Frugal 2018 needed! Saving and NOT spending0 -
Pouring with rain here today but I had to go out to post a parcel and take something to a friends.......very wet now
I had a big spend up totalling £86 but my Second Purse bought me 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of slippers, a bra and some mugs, so that doesnt come out of the budget :j
And Second Purse bought some stuff for Sallys Stores so that doesnt come out of the budget either :j
GC totals are £6 in Sainsbods, 95p in Post Office and £14 in Iceland, so £21 total spend so far for July......I have decided to round figures up or down, and will just go in whole pounds from now on.
I had LO HM biryani for lunch (out too early for brekkie) and DD bought me a surprise steak slice, which I have cut in 1/2 and frozen for future munching.
I MUST get back to eating smaller portions again.....I have slipped back into greedy-guts mode lately! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I like the idea of being able to set the timer so that it starts about 4am in the morning and fills the house with the wonderful smell of freshly baked bread (especially in the dank dark dreary months of January and February).
May your week be replete with thriftiness,
But try and remember you have set the timer!!
The 1st time I did it after I was living on my own, I heard scary noises from the kitchen and crept bravely downstairs with a shoe in my hand, really to attack the suspected burglar.....
The burglar which turned out to be the bread maker switching itself on and making those whizzy noises :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Might try for a no spend day today, but will have to resist the urge for my new addiction of popping to my new T express at tea time for whoopsies.
Dont resist too long! I have found the reductions are brilliant when a shop is new (till they find out who much they will sell I suppose) but after a while, the YS reductions tend to go right down......if you have the money and space, stock up while you can! :T0 -

Can I join in this month please?
I want to try to do it for £200 for the 4 of us for all food and cleaning things and also toiletries.
So far I have spent £19.90p, I am well stocked up so I hope to be able to do this. This is half what we were spending each month.:o£36/£240

Had planned to have chicken & cheese puff pastry ring for tea, but DS1 has asked if a friend can come for tea and I'm pretty sure it's the friend who hates cheese......:(
Need something quick and easy tonight as DS2 has cubs and they are out and about rather than at the church at the bottom of the road.
Will probably do sweet and sour pork with rice as have everything in for that.
DH left the lo gammon in the fridge last night afterall, so looking forward to gammon in batter later in the week. Thank you Flo! (where are you btw?)Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -

Now at £157.91 - dentist approved toothpaste for little bear. I said ouch as I paid for it without pain relief.
Approved Food order coming tomorrow. That will knock another chunk down. But hopefully not so much more to buy this month.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

The one huge problem with the Panasonic is that the bread is too good. Hubs turns his nose up at shop bought bread now - the sceptic has been converted!
Have had a very MSE afternoon..turned a few punnets of gooseberries into gooseberry and elderflower jam. Chicken carcass and bits and the end of the veg drawer are turning to stock in the slow cooker and will be turned into the cheapest dinner ever for this evening.
Nothing like a little motivation, eh?0
