That is very nice of them JJ :)

Does anybody know if you can freeze yorkshire pudding mix? I have a bit left and would like to use it as a batter another time.

you must be able to, i was thinking about the aunt bossies ones that are just pudding mix in tin trays. They always rise, but then they may have some additive in to make them.

I often freeze ready baked left over puddings, but havent tried batter.

And yet MORE spends to report...here goes...

    50p in corner shop
£1.50 in Eat on a bottle of Diet coke
    £3.60 in Mr S
    £3.49 in Co-0p
    £12.88 in Bo0ts
    £5.44 in Holland + Barrett
    then £18.78 in Lid1

So thats...£33.31 in total. I will get £10 back from my housemate because I bought some things for him, so £23.81 to add and this makes me officially over budget.

I knew it would happen - you have your good months, you have your bad. That's the way it seems to go I guess.

Have to say I was quite impressed with Lidl. It IS a bit of a journey so only an option if I've got nothing else on (like today because I did spend quite a bit on the South Bank using my 'entertainment' money yesterday! :o, so needed to haul the spending in). Means I shouldn't need to do an online shop for another week because I got pork lion steaks, chorizo, sun dried tomatoes (LOADS cheaper!), rice etc ,which would have been bought anyway at Mr S/Mr W for probably a third more of the cost!.

I know I'm sad when I get excited by discovering a new SM! :p

I hope everybody is enjoying the sun (whilst it lasts)! :D

Thankyou Jil I will freeze it.

I just got back from Mr S and Mr T. I have spent £25.81 but I have lots for this amount.
A lettuce and 2 bags of chillis for 1p each.
TTD Mashed maris pipers for 15p
TTD wild venison x 2 for 40p each.
    Full cooked chicken for 69p.
    Salad bag for 19p.
BBQ ribs down to just 35p.
    TTD taglitelle carbonara for 25p.
    TTD Pork pappardelle for 40p.
12x mushy peas for 4p each.
Mr T finest gravy for 20p. This was £2 original price, who on earth pays that.

I am very pleased with it all and it will keep us going a while.:j

Just to add to this. I did a quick Mysupermarket comparison from my receipt and I was actually quite disappointed that Mr T was nearly the same cost. Well at least it was online - when I went to the supermarket they didn't have their Trattoria Verde cheaper range, so it would have been more expensive in store I guess. Is Aldi cheaper than Lidl?

Had roast chicken, roast potatoes, HM sage & onion stuffing, HM gravy, braised red cabbage and carrots for dinner (the little chantenay ones were even from our garden!!).

SO delicious and totally worth slaving in the kitchen for :p. Have a mound of leftover roast chicken so think I will do sandwiches tomorrow and then freeze and make a pie next week for Sunday dinner, yum - also with the braised cabbage as I deliberately made two extra portions to freeze. Will also freeze the carcass as I don't really have time to make stock tonight. Though I am getting quite tight for freezer space since bunging the soup I made today in there! :rotfl:

    Mmm, looks yummy!

I shan't be having anything near as nice as that this week, as I'm cooking for myself, and I can never be bothered!!

Having been inspired, I'm off now to look in my freezer to see what yummy (quick) creations I can make myself tomorrow.

Bluegreen, Just a tip. I put my carcasses in the freezer in a bag. Before I put it in I place a baking sheet over it and press down to crush it.
    Saves on space.
