My weekly shop was done today for just £20.64, so pretty impressed with that.
I will have to go again in the week to buy all the bits for OH's Olympic birthday cake/meal. Planning on doing lots of little dishes with flags in to represent the countries of the world and a union jack cake.
But with budget standing at £139.94/£200 I reckon there's enough slack for some nice grub and I don't need booze as the fridge is still piled up with wine and beer from the BBQ we had a few weeks ago.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Hi all nsd here, mum brought me some milk though so I will send her some money tomorrow.
Probably nsd tomorrow too, freezer stocks are seriously low...Bossymoo

We had sweet and sour chicken with rice for dinner tonight. Cost less than £1 for the 3 of us. YS chicken breast, 1, cut very small! Some extra bits of pineapple, some frozen peas, and a jar of smartprice s and s sauce. There's even a tiny bit left over for me to have with something else for my dinner tomorrow!
I haven't made my plan yet for what I'm eating this week. The children are with their dad from tomorrow afternoon until Friday dinnertime, so I can eat cheaply, and use up stuff. Can't decide whether to make a plan, or to wing it day by day... Think I'll make a vague list, and eat what I feel like on the day from that list. We'll see!!
Night all,

Tonight we had DR steak burgers for tea. One each was more than enough with mini roasties and baked beans (!). We very rarely have baked beans as DS2 can't stand them, so the rest of us had them and he went without!
Will need to shop tomorrow as we don't have much in now. Been running the freezer down (mostly 2nd purse stock) to avoid the SMs. It's working, but now very limited in our choice of food (how many times a week can one family eat sausages.....???)
Will definitely be over this month. Thinking I'm being too optimistic having £450 for the 5 of us. It just seems like such a huge amount of moneyCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
No grocery spends today. Went to parents' for dinner to celebrate stepdad's birthday so free dinner (well minus train fare and presents, but they're seperate budgets!). Delicious barbeque and lovely evening with OH, parents, sister and her boyfriend.
Ordered groceries from Mr A and updated sig, but will need to adjust when delivery arrives tomorrow. Estimated cost is £60.94 and I had a random free delivery voucher sitting in my account, completely unexpectedly!! This is a stocking up shop so happy with the total. Fingers crossed I should make my lower target this month!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Good morning everyone! Today is looking like being another NSD for me as I've everything in I need to make the tomato & bacon lasagne for tonight's tea. Just going to chop a lot of bacon - the cooking bacon packs work really well - add garlic, onions, mushrooms & a carton of passata, and use that in place of a normal ragu sauce in a lasagne.
Hopefully that will make a couple of extra portions to freeze. I know I'm trying to run the freezers down but having in the odd ready meal is never a bad thing.
Have a lovely day everyone. (hugs) to those in need.
