declutter, paint, more flowers and stage according to who your target market it."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

The garden needs a good trim, hanging basket maybe, new towels in bathroom, rug and declutter in lounge, stuff off the top of the kitchen units, declutter, that shelf with loads of dvds in-take down, and hang a pic or mirror there. It looks tired and dated, needs freshening up.0

Actually, looking at the dvd shelf room again, that all needs coming out! it will make the room look bigger and more streamlined.0

This is MSE. Don't you have any twigs in the garden?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
I second the other comments. I'd also buy a new duvet cover set and new pillows, and put the (be-pillowcased, plump) pillows on top of the duvet. Right now the bed looks a bit sad rather than somewhere to relax. Lose the headboard, which makes the bedroom look a bit neglected and old fashioned.
With a bit of work it will be a nice little first house for somebody. Good luck.0 -
I agree with all that has been said so far but would like to add: please post the 'after' pictures...and good luck!Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

Sale on at Dunelm Mill at the moment (I have no connection). You could dress a room for £50 with their bargains

It's a nice, clean little house, perfect for a FTB. There's just a LOT of stuff in it!
Definitely lose the table at the top of the stairs, it's just taking up space and is a hazard. The tools must go, I know you're DIYing at the moment but don't leave them there, stash them in the loft/shed/anywhere out of sight. You could lose some of the pictures on the walls to create the illusion of more space but I know that you will probably be left with the ghost outlines on the walls! Is there any chance that you could slap on some paint in the main bedroom? The wallpaper is dated and makes the room look smaller than it is. You can pick up a duvet set for £14 in Morrisons/Wilkinsons etc and if you can't bear to lose the headboard, could you borrow a staple gun and re-cover it with some (cheap) fabric from a market stall or boot fair?
The kitchen is fine, it's a little dated but first-time buyers have to be realistic, they're not gonna get a brand-new kitchen at that price and it's perfectly clean and serviceable, even with the *old* cooker. Again, declutter the kitchen, stick your pots and small appliances in a cupboard, and make sure that it's nice and clean (it looks as though it is already!)
Basically, lose the surplus furniture, pictures, ornaments and dvds, spruce up your soft furnishings and you'll be fine. You've got a nice front door so do trim the bushes and make sure that your curtains are hanging nicely.
Good luck, let us know how it goes!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

If you're emigrating (and not wanting to take your furniture with you) you could offer to include the furniture items as an option for a BTL investor so it's ready furnished.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
