I'm no expert but speaking as someone who looks at houses almost continually these days in the hope we will one day be able to move, the two main things that jumped out at me were the large shrubs in the garden pretty much blocking the window and the fact the living room could do with a 'shift round'.
The way it's set out at the moment, it looks a bit like a hall with furniture round the edges and I'm struggling to imagine how I'd have the room to make it more 'user friendly' and how my furniture would go.
I'd also put some stuff away in the kitchen for the time being, just so it looks a wee bit more streamlined.Herman - MP for all!

I think you need to focus on making the space look bigger - at the moment all I can see is furniture!
It looks like its probably quite a nice bright house so I think you need to emphasis that - make sure there are pic's of the garden. I don't like the bedroom wallpaper - perhaps that could be neutralised though I don't think its a show stopper.
But mainly - have a bit of a declutter before the agent takes photos

Things I think would help:
1. Tidy the garden. Cut back the bush which is blocking the window
2. De clutter the kitchen. There are lots of things on top of the cupboards which makes it look like there isn't enough storage
3.Dining Agrea - Remove the extension cables. Tells the buyer there aren't enough power points in the right places
4. Bathroom - Remove the towels and bleach etc when taking the photos. Does the cabinet have doors? If so shut them.
Generally de clutter. Do you have a loft you can store things in for a few weeks?0 -
Pretty much exactly what aliasojo said, the shrubbery needs serious chopping and tidying up, a general declutter everywhere is needed, clear the decks in the kitchen it'll make a huge difference to the concept of the size if the work tops are clear. The great thing about decluttering now is you can pack away a lot of stuff that is maybe just ornamental that you won't need to pack closer to your move time, win win!0

As above - cut the lilac to half its current height, and a lot of de-cluttering needed. The bedroom looks very cramped with the linen basket etc, and remove all the items from the top of the cupboards - it makes it look as if you are short on storage space. Remove the magazine rack, and leave 1 item on top of the hideous fire you are trying to cover with it - by trying to hide it like that, you only draw attention to it

It does look lovely and light thoughDon't Panic - and carry a towel

Agree about the shrubs in the garden - need thinning out a bit. House does seem a bit cluttered, so I would have a good clear-out / arrange furniture to create more of a feeling of space. It's amazing how much space there is in a relatively small house if it's not cluttered. Go for a minimalist look and feel.
Any pics of the back garden and access to the front of the property? If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -
Remove all the clutter from the ktichen worktops/cupboard tops (even if you put it back after the EA photos)
If you are going to use a table cloth, iron it - looks like a used bedsheet at the moment.
Remove the tool boxes and clutter from the lounge. Take mag rack away from front of the fire - looks like you are trying to hide something.
Hide any visible extension sockets.
Fold the towel on the rail in the bathroom or remove altogether.
The "dead" vase of flowers on the landing table is crap - pot plant or vase of bright silk ones would help here.
Cut back or remove the ceanothus infront of the window.
Sorry to be blunt but you did ask!0 -
It looks cramped and rather cluttered, but in otherwise good condition.
Without knowing where it is and what you want for it I couldnt say any more.
Edit: If you have things like towels and linen on display make sure they are folded and crease free. I wouldnt bother with the picture of the landing (if thats what it is) unless you want to further accentuate how little room there is.0 -
Also would remove the swivel chair & tools from the sitting room. Close the desk. Find a screen rather than use the huge magazine rack to hide the fire.
Start packing. Especially non essentials.
Put a couple of wine bottles in the rack in the kitchen (don't have to be full) but adds a "lifestyle" touch.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -
Some good comments - I also agree with the need to declutter.
Also the photos seem a bit close up - is there a way of moving back and taking a picture of more of the room? Since at the moment it kind of looks like you zoomed in a bit?0
