Vodaphone what a joke!!!

Hi there
I think my title says it all but i will try and exsplain i came to vodaphone though what i thought was a good deal though phones 4 u roughly 3 years ago,i signed up for a cheaper contract and a free phone, to cut along story short my bills after i got this new contracts was way over what i signed up for thay was going in at £60,£70 etc this happen for a good few months, i contacted vodaphone and id be promised it would get sorted out but never did, im a really poorly women and i couldnt cope with the stress of it all,so again i rung up and i was put though to a type of manager as i was just having a breakdown on the phone and sobbing my heart out,the manger then told me as a good will gester i will have 50% off my bill for the whole time im with vodaphone, my bills have been coming out at £20ish pounds monthly since then i had no problems, roll onto 2012 april where my contract was up for renewal,so i rung vodaphone and said about the 50% will it still stand etc and i was told yes it will as it applies till the time i leave vodaphone,so i said does it also applie to iphones and she said yes and i did keep asking her to make sure,so basically my normaly contract is £41.00 but with the 50% she said it was £20 something,so i signed up for it,yesterday i looked at my bill and it wasnt what i was told and truely my heart sank as i have a budget that is for my phone,so today i ring up customers services and i was told there is nothing on my account saying about the 50% for the contract and i was furious as it turns out i have been lied to again by vodaphone, and all the person could say i understand how you feel and i said no you cant all i have had is problems from vodaphone and i feel betrayed, more time went on going back and fouth and him saying nothing is on the contratc etc,i said i want to speak to a manger and he said i couldnt and lets say a few words where said,in the end a manger phoned me back asap which normaly take 48hrs and he was very sorry and everything ,at this time my carrer got involvled and she was told by him that is was very sorry and there must of been a miss of commucation(there was none of that i was just lied to)and that on iphone contracts thay dont offer no good will gester or anything like that,i was never exsplain this not at all so i was lied to,he offered me the choice of ending my contract and sending back my phone and i didnt have to pay the £800 fee for ending it early, and i cant really do that as i need a phone on me all the time cause im so sick etc so he said well we can take £3 off ur last bill and the give you £20 of a one time good will gester,to cut a long story short my carrer toke his name and we left it there,i feel so bloody angery with vodaphone and i do feel conned and when a promise is made it should be keept like i was told in april, bloody companys i just dont need the stress of all of this,i didnt know weather to write to the big boss of vodaphone or what to do really,im just very angery any advice would greatfully be recieved, sorry about my rant to,thank you in advance x

Amongst all that , it is not clear what you were being billed £60 for, personally I would send the handset back and re-evaluate a contract that suits your usage and financial requirements.

Thank you for replying to me the £60 was basically a muck up on my contract and this toke them a while to sort out so that was why i was given 50% off for all time as a good will gester,i am thinking of doing that but also sending a letter to the boss of vodaphone as i think its disgusting to be honest, bloody companys are never honest x

I understand that you need a phone at all times, but does it need to be an iPhone? I only ask this cos I've recently got a contract with tesco mobile with a free samsung phone, 300 free mins & 500mb data all for the princely sum of £7.50 a month & I kept my existing number. Sounds like you've had a lot of hassle from vodafone. They've given you the option of ending the contract with no penalty, if I was you I'd take it & go elsewhere.

I understand that, however there will still be a practical reason why the discount was applied, simply a bill error would not be the sole cause, eg they may have levied the wrong tariff and to adjust it apply thr GWG to correct the monthly amount. I doubt sending a letter will achieve much, the contract was via phones4U which I have never used but often read bad things about the service they offer. Hence why I suggest taking your custom elsewhere and saving on stress.

    Hello Harmony

I have reread your post and from what you have mentioned, you were given a discount on a contract. As soon as you agreed the new contract, any discount would be removed as it would be a new agreement.

As this would have been an iphone contract, you would not get any discount on an iphone tariff. The price is set by Apple and Vodafone have to give a percentage of the line rental back to Apple.

You dont mention whether the new contract was taken out direct with Vodafone or agreed through Phones 4U as an upgrade. If the contract was sold by Phones 4U, you would need to take it up with them direct.

I hope all works out for you.

I really wish i hadnt said anything as i feel like im getting bashed abit,i only came on here for friendly advice as i said the 50% was an on going for me as a good will gester that has been applied to 2 previous phones i have had with vodafone,i asked way before the option of the iphone was mention about the 50% and she assured me it will be applied, then i said about an iphone and she said the 50% good well gester is applied like it was all the other times, regardless of what phone i have.
Also to say phones 4 u where the ones that said vodafone was a good company and had good taffifs that was suited for me, so once i signed that contract which was 3 year ago now i then became apart of vodafone not phones 4 u,i just think customers services needs to stop lying, vodafone is such a bad company  x

Don't tell us that it necessarily has to be an iPhone
...2 previous phones i have had with vodafone
    Where are they?
vodafone is such a bad company
Hardly a news. Their CS services are incompetent and shambolic. They made an error and you are lucky that they are prepared to correct it at no cost for you. What's the problem then?

Harmony, nobody is having a go, just saying it's hard to read one massive long paragraph.
You will get more and better advice if you make it easier for people to read, that's all
