Its taken death threats before the forum team removed someone from teh forum before, but if its your wife, you get them to act?
Why can you not apply the same rule to everyone, its been a free for all on the insult side for years - yet you do not like it when it is aimed at you?
It really is a shame your team, and yourself dont apply the rules fairly.
Its fine for people on this site to slag off millions of people on a regular basis, or get personal about another poster, but you draw the line at your wife...
Its no good saying "nasty remarks about anyone aren't welcome on this forum" when it is clear from what actually goes on that you and your team do not enforce that ethos.
It gets to the stage where as your team do not act, people have to return insults just to cope...
Like when you wrote this?
"Welcome back, I was wondering where your childlike pompous insulting idiotic self had gone." - cit_k, 2012Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

If this is the case why then did you only give the £10m tax dodge to charity rather than take a reasonable sum (£2-5m) for yourself and put the rest into a charitable trust?
No-one begrudges you (and your staff who deserve a bonus) a decent sum from your efforts but this is an obscene amount of money.
Your mouth is saying one thing your actions are saying something totally different.
all of course in MHO
Do you put the vast majority of your money into charitable trusts?Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

Amazing number of saintly, altruistic posters here who would give their money away! Roll eyes, please!
Just don't use the site if you don't like it, eh?Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I have now unsubscribed from MoneySavingExpert.
MoneySavingExpert suggests in its tips that it will not pass on my email address to anyone else.
Well, it has done just that by selling out to MoneySupermarket.
I have no desire to be inundated with further Moneysupermarket emails. I get too much unsolicited spam as it is.
So, goodbye Martin Lewis.
Your site was great but I detest MoneySupermarket.
My email address may not, under any circimstances, be passed to MoneySupermarket without my express permission, which I have not given.:(0 -

This is the reason I believe so many people are upset about the site being sold to a comparison site, You have a site that really helps people and a comparison site that is not really a comparison site but to sell there own products that CAN BE CHEAPER on another comparison site.
In order to cover the costs there has to be a way to generate revenue.
If you think your home energy bills are bad think about this.
I don't know anything about the network topology or amount of servers required to power MSE and the forums but the chances are its more than a couple.
These are likely to be dedicated servers as a shared hosting platform would not give the required performance.
For a site like this you are likely to need Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron based systems stuffed with RAM that are upwards of £1500 to buy or £250+ a month to rent EACH.
In the case of MSE owning the machines they will pay a colocation charge for each (£60+ a month per rack mount plus a power tariff)
Then there's probably connectivity charges per port and per gigabyte.
So while there is much hand wringing if I were to say tonight I'll set something up on condition that people contribute to the running costs (I don't have the time to at the moment anyway) based on what I have told you how many people would be willing to do that?
Not many I'd wager.Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)0 -
