  • Hello everybody :hello:

Well the District Nurse has been - and I was told off as I was vacuuming the back room - I thought I had to be "mobile" Anyway, I can't plant up the cheap plants in packets I bought from In-Store either (our In-Store is closing as we're having a new shopping centre and whilst it's being built there's no where big enough to house my fave shop. Looks like it's a trip to Wilkiknsons instead then) as it involves lugging a big bag of compost and that's out - and it's such a lovely day too, not a cloud in the sky here. I tried sorting out the magazine rack yesterday and although I did it I paid for it later!! Not had breakfast yet as feeling slightly queasy. Lunch will be soup and I haven't a clue for dinner - we ended up having lasagne out out of the freezer last night. Oh Oh :j I've got some stewing steak in the freezer - casserole with jackets it is then :D Or maybe yorkshire puddings ...... bread and butter pudding for afters. Y'see it's this place, it just automatically inspires!!! I wish it'd inspire me to write all the penpal letters I owe......:rotfl:

    Ta Ta
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Morning :hello:

((((Hugs)))) to all who are sick or injured. There are a lot of you about at the moment! N9eav, I'm so pleased your daughter is finally out of hospital :T

Feeling quite odd myself actually. Not ill exactly - just a bit weak and wiped out, and I think I've got a bit of an ear infection as my hearing seems all bunged up.

Today after work I have a meeting with a local charity I have offered to do some volunteering for. They do various activities, but the projects I'm keen to be a part of are to do with positively influencing young girls, and training teenage/young mothers in home management/budgeting/cooking. I will mainly be involved in the admin side as that's what I am good at :D Luckily I should still be home nice and early, the charity's HQ is only 10 minutes from where I live.

AMIE99 hope the hours aren't too low for too long
    Welcome webitha and trigger2 :hello:

    Hi everyone

Just wanted to say thanks for all your kind thoughts, hugs and pms over this past few weeks. Much appreciated :T

Things are .... well... progressing slowly. House has been House Doctored and is on the market. Had a couple of viewings but no offers as yet. Don't really want to go out and find myself a house yet as I'm sure if I see one and fall in love with it, it will probably have gone by the time we sell this one :( I'm keeping an eye on the market though. The boys are fine - actually looking forward to having 2 bedrooms. :)

I've been trying to remain OS - although I did go through a week of eating shop bought bread - until DS1 asked when he could have my tasty bread again :rotfl: Anyway - I need to start eating up what's in the cupboards. We could eat for months on what we have in. (Bit of a drastic way to have a store cupboard challenge tho)

Upside to all this - I have lost 6lbs, 1 1/2 inches off my waist and 1 inch of my hips - and yes, I am looking after myself and still eating, just not as much :j (I'm not measuring the loss off my boobs as I haven't much there to start with  )

Anyway, just wanted to say hello to you all. I have tried to keep up with lots of what's been going on, so Happy Birthdays, congrats, and/or hugs as needed to you all. Special big hugs to <<<moggins>>> though.

    Have a great day

  • hello everyone

lovely sunny day today. dh just set off with dd for medical appointment, then she will be back in school.

Got an appointment at the high school that our lea has suggested for ds1. we know he won't cope there however we're going to visit so we are better prepared for our meeting with the lea on thursday

has anyone been through the mainstream v special school situation. ds1 is in mainstream with resourced provision but not coping at all. now the lea want to send him to a different mainsteam high school with no resourced provision.
how thats going to help him , i've no idea.

downstairs is tidy thanks to the flylady thread. waiting for upstairs to come round then hopefully upstairs will be ok too.

i've been lurking for ages now and thought i'd join in. i need a dfw number as well. i also need to sort out my signature and work out how to use the smileys. my meal planning is starting to take shape and the grocery budget is beginning to fall. in fact you could say i'm addicted to moneysavingexpert.

well i'd better go and get something done

    bye for now

Morning all...............lovely morning, but I have been outside and it a bit chilly out of the sun. OH is loading up the car for another trip to the allotment, I have no real plans for the morning except some ironing and trying to do some more packing, I had an email yesterday about something I had to withdraw from e bay when the computer went down, so a little more for the kitty.....not sure when they are collecting.......

Supper not sure, might do toad in the hole, have a large crumble I made yesterday which will do tomorrow as well.

I am feeling a bit stressed, but at least we know that the apartment work has started the electricians were there yesterday........

My tame computer chappie rang yesterday to say that my laptop had arrived and he was just setting it up for me, he is coming Wednesady to bring back the tower for the desk top and my new 'puter OH is getting this one so I have to take stuff off it and put onto mine....also will take the DT down to my DD's and set it up for them. SIL is coming to take down the light fitting in the sitting room, we will get it put up in the sitting room once we get in.

    Right I am off for a cuppa......see y'all later...............

Morning all. Thanks for making me so welcome yesterday :)

Hope everyone is feeling better today. Sending happy thoughts to you all. It's such a beautiful morning here, really bright and sunny. It was so overcast yesterday morning, when the sun shines it starts me off in a better mood for the whole day. I can't wait to get out into the garden at the weekend.

Didn't get to go for our walk last night, life took over and friends ended up being later over to our house. Still had dinner together which was really nice. However, now meal plan is up the spout as have a small mountain of mashed potato left (never knowingly undercatered, that's me) and also some veg and sauce bit from a casserole.. and no room in the freezer. Oops. So... Tuna Fish Cakes? Bubble and Squeak type thing? Any other ideas gratefully received.

I finish my job (of 7 years) on 30th March, after 3 months notice. Am trying to downsize a bit, make a bit of a go of my own venture and just have a better quality of life (less work = less money though), have worked and saved hard for 3 years to be able to (for the next 12 months at least).. Anyway, as you can imagine, I am ready to leave work now, 3 months notice is a long time and there is a lot of petty politics. But then.. Leaving is also a bit scary. But, life is good, feel really lucky and happy, just a few minor moments of panic that come and go and this morning happens to be one of them :rolleyes2

    Hugs to all x x x

  • Morning everyone

    Happy Birthday to lilmisskitkat
Hi :hello: to webitha and trigger2
TM lovely to hear from you. Hope all goes well for you.
thewestfive I don't have any experience of mainstream v special schools, sorry. I do know that in our area it can take a VERY long time for a child who would benefit from a place in a special school to be allocated one as the demand is so high. You are doing the right thing though in arming yourself with as much information as you can on why a mainstream school is not right for your DS. I hope you get the result you want. School is such an important part of life for any child and it should be as happy as possible for them imho.
N9eav glad DD is out of hospital. Look on the bright side, you have to a "pants day" to appreciate the good ones. :D
essex-girl DS shattered his elbow last year. He felt totally hopeless for the first three or four days but after that he managed fine. Hope you start to feel better soon.
(((hugs))) to everyone who needs one.

The washing is sitting rather limply on the washing line now and I only hope it stays dry long enough for me to get up into town, do what I have to do and get home to bring it back in again. The clouds are gathering as I type.

DS has orthodontist appointment this pm and then I have a governor's meeting to draw up a short-list for interviews. We need a 0.5 nursery teacher (in other words the nursery will only be open 5 mornings a week not mornings and afternoons). We thought we would struggle to find anyone who would want those hours. Turns out we have over 25 applications!! So a long afternoon awaits me.

Must go and get cracking. Have a tremendous Tuesday everyone. xx
