We are a family of four and we have to manage with very low spare cash each month even though we both work!!! I've been getting reduced stuff now for the past 2 years and it has made a dramatic difference to my monthly food shopping bill. Last Thursday thought I'd head down to my local Asda to see what I could get to refill the freezer and I struck very lucky got 2 fresh turkey crowns priced at £22 each for £2.50 each and a free range extra special chicken for £1 and the best bargain yet a large topside of beef which was marked at nearly £17 for £2. Also stocked up on my weekly bread prices ranging between 10p and 20p and also stocked up on yogurts for the kids at 20p a go.....had loads more reduced stuff ie party food and fruit and my bill for a full 5 bags was £12 I was chuffed!!! The only thing that I wasn't happy about was having to pay 25 pence for the carrier bags (live in Wales) I'd forgotten my bags at home!!0

We spent Christmas Eve in Waitrose and snapped up loads of bargains, turkey, fish, burgers, pizzas. Boxing Day we went to Asda and again loads of bargains. Turkey crowns £5, lean mince 20p, frying steak 30p.
My freezer is full to bursting.
I love a bargain.
However, have put in a complaint to Waitrose because of some mouldy cheese slices - I await their response !!0 -

If you weren't aware - Waitrose policy is generally to refund and replace if you return them instore0 -
Thank you, unfortunately my nearest waitrose is quite a drive so it was easier for me to ring them than make the journey0

Last Friday I got over £100 worth of M&S food for £21. I'm not buying any meat or poultry for a a while but it's a good way to try products I won't otherwise purchase.
I love Aldi for most things especially fruit and veg but I've never got a reduction in there.0 -
I live very close to a large Lidl. Their reduction policy is rigid. It's a third off, marked with an organic sticker. The store seems to go through phases of using only a plain orange sticker, without original or new price, but mostly both are clearly marked. The times seem random, but I see less stickers on Weds (possibly because they change the weekly offers on Thurs) and at weekends, possibly because they're snapped up by people getting there early for the 4 weekend offers, some of which are a real bargain.0

the Lidl I go to rarely has any reductions at all!0

Spilling the beans here....I have to be very honest. ...
I work on produce at a local supermarket and do reductions.
If there is something either:
-High Calories
-Freezeable for 2 months
I will take it for myself, and the managers are OK with this. Also it's easy to make friends with other people on their departments and trade stuff hehe :P
I usually spend about £10-15 a week on food this way. Don't judge me it's one of the only reasons I still work there!!0
