i went to Morrisions in Bolton @ 5pm on my way home from work after a long mad day , only to be met by 50-60 asians buying cans of tomatoes , chick peas and kidney beans not by the tin oh no by the case load all because they are on offer and a member of staff had called them to say the delivery had arrived, went to get some salmon culd not get near as they were reducing the fish my son got smacked in the face by an asain because he was in their way (10 yr old with learning difficulties he wnated to see the full fish on their counter) the poor lady who was reducing the fish was totaly scared looked lie a frightned rabbit caught in the head lights of a car .all i can say dont go shopping after hard day at work especialy when chick peas are on offer

That's appalling, especially to have your son treated like that. I would write a letter of complaint to head office of Morrison. Give time and date and as much detail as possible. Don't mention that they were Asian in case the letter is read by someone who is more interested in pulling you up for being politically incorrect than being concerned that a child with learning difficulties was assaulted.

Always the occasional post blaming a person's actions on their race is Racist and not politically incorrect !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Another great night in Asda tonight. £25 of chicken breasts for 50p, £11 of Aberdeen Angus Mince for 20p, Ribeye steak down from £4.64 to 10p, Prime Frying Steak £3.45 to 10p and Beef Sausages from £10 to 40p.

Only problem now is that I'm going to have to spend a couple of hundred pounds for another freezer!!!

I expect it was to give a complete and accurate description of the scene.

What was the relevance of your questioning it????

Nobody blamed anything on anyone's race, they simply reported the facts and described the events.

Always the occasional poster looking to make themselves look better by accusing others of racism just because they mention someone's race.
  • After reading about the reductions at Waitrose on this thread last week I decided to have a wander down and have a look.

Well, it was stressful to say the least. I seemed to walk in just as they were making the most and best reductions and there seemed to be a lot of people fighting for the best items.

I managed to get some pizzas reduced from over £4 to 99p. Unfortunately there was a customer grabbing the reduced items as soon as there were reduced in order to get them before other people. This wouldn't have been so bad except it appeared she was grabbing them 'just in case' as after looking at their prices and what the product actually was she returned most of it to the shelf. Also she gave me quite an evil look for taking one of the pizzas haha

Disregarding the enthusiasm of some of the customers I was quite impressed with the reductions made in the store. This was around 4 o clock and the shop is open until 8 so I may have a little look later on in the day sometime.

I've had a few good deals in Sainsbury's, mostly from the bakery, before closing time. I think it's a popular branch (in Nottingham) so it's rare that there's any decent fresh products in the reduced section.

The best deals I've had are in Waitrose - there's a Little Waitrose in town that often has various brilliant deals. I've had mince reduced from £4 to 99p (I got about five of them) and crumpets down to about 5p.

Another place i've noticed they have some absurd reductions is Aldi - there's almost always meat down to 30% off marked price and fruit down to 30 or 50% off. I suppose that with the smaller stores it can be a gamble as to how much they stock of everything. Recently they had chicken 400g on a deal at £1.99 that was marked down to £1. Not bad at all!

I live above that Waitrose you menitoned... and I usually go 10 mins before closing time any day and get loads of stuff like meat, sandwiches, veg, yoghurts etc. for 8p an item ;)

I work til 8:30pm on a Monday night and sometimes pop into Waitrose at Hexham before catching my train home. They close at 9. I've had a few good bargains. Boxes of Kellogg's Mini Max reduced from £2.50 to 99p (picked up a few, not sure why they were reduced though as they were in date) and some fruit. It's very quiet at that time so makes for a pleasant shopping experience, and because its quite an affluent area, its not full of people shopping just for reduced stuff.

I'm not usually one to roam supermarkets for reduced items, but if i see something i might eat that night/next day i'll pick it up. Sometimes the reduced stuff in M&S is really good but they seem to attract everyone to it so there is usually not much left.
  • Well i went into Aldi and Morrisons today about 20mins before closing and they had absolutely NOTHING!!! i'd like to know where everyone lives as it certainly can't be anywhere near me!!!
