Surely the point of comparison sites is that you COMPARE prices and YOU choose the cheapest product that suites YOU best? I have only ever seen people post on here how much they have SAVED, im sure if people had LOST money as you claim, it would soon have been posted on the forums to warn others?

They don't get revenue from every link, maybe they just managed to get a good deal from MS. Maybe MS was buttering up ML to get him to sell to them eventually? Who knows?
I think this site has always been fair and given the best advice in the market.
I do know that in business it's a bad thing to do, to have all your eggs in one basket.
Business wise he's done the right thing, sold at the top of the market for this particular site. I dislike all the rubbish coming out about how it will be better for the site and us. But that's the std business prattle.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Why are you disgusted that he has earnt 87mil? Im not disgusted at the lucky guy/girl who wins the euro millions 92mil tonite. The only thing im disgusted at is the amount of trolls that have come out of the wood work!
"troll" you calling someone a troll?? Such a low blow. You should be ashamed that you call others "troll" due to our rightful disgust at this sell out. As for the Euromillions, very poor analogy/comparison, that is a LOTTERY not a supposedly free and impartial money saving website. Our trust has been betrayed.
I'm talking about what was once a great, impartial website being sold out for £87 million to the "money supermarket" scumbags. Expect the once honest and good MSE site to downgrade rapidly.
Martin Lewis has lost our trust. He has made HIMSELF the troll, never mind the common folk you accuse of trolling who are struggling to get by in these difficult times.
MARTIN LEWIS, shame on you!!! Power corrupts, and money also. You disgust me, fool me once etc.
But then again, Martin Lewis with £87 mil in the bank can now afford to pay people to defend his name "independently" on his own forum. Disgusting!0 -
Hilarious how suddenly all these posters after all these years suddenly reveal how they have been somehow wasting their time on the site or "never use it" anyway.
All these posters complaining and they never use the site anyway remind me of the customers we had on the Cabs during the festive season. Christmas night or especially New Year would be mad busy then someone would complain 'cos they'd been kept waiting and say ......... "Don't you realise we're regular customers, we use your company every Christmas"Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Surely as Martin has always preached total transparency with regards to how this site makes money he would be willing to provide an answer? I mean, I know moneysupermarket is huge but almost 60% of MSE's affiliate revenue comes from that one site? How come?0 -
For the site to be bought for so much you were obviously making a pretty penny - why sell, exactly? Surely you could have partnered with your friends at CAB to get their help running the site, so that you could dedicate time to your other ego-related causes, while still raking it in. I feel silly now for thinking you were any different from the money grubbing bankers. Sell out!0

Does anyone know of a money saving web site we can trust?? cause we can't trust this one any more ;-(0

I think that MSE provides a list of comparison sites to try to get the best deal, then says, these might not be the best so try companies directly as well.
Presuming we all click through to all the comparison sites and MS is the only one that pays a decent whack of commission, it's easy to see how this might happen.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Martin "Sell out" Lewis.
Confirmed he was only in it for the money0
