    So will it now become:

    MoneySupermarket's Moneysavingexpert.com

or will we at least finally get the gramatically-correct Martin Lewis's

    ???

No it hasn't, you just didn't bother to read the "how this site works" information. It was hardly hidden from you, it's at the bottom of the main page and included in every article.

Ironic given that most of Martin's "campaigning" for been for those that failed to read the terms and conditions, yes?

I can't believe some people are taking this so personally. :undecided

So what if it is a 'sell out'? So what if Martin Lewis' soley only wants to profit massively from this (not that I believe that's his sole motivation)? Do you not think he has earnt it? Is he not entitled to secure his long term financial future from all his graft? Are you all telling me you wouldn't do the same? Fair play to the bloke.

Of course I'd be gutted if this site were ever to change. I'd like to think it will be here to help other people when they're at their lowest and in their darkest place like I was, £40,000 of debt ago. I hope that advice and support will still be there in 10 years time. But I can't begrudge him wanting to secure his future and free up some of his time.

If he has 'sold out', I just hope in true MSE style he got the best deal and went through Quidco too. :D

I was going to quote parts of this 5* comment but decided to leave it all as most of it I either agree with or has applied to me as well.

I to had approaching £40k of debt about nine years ago. I lost control and paid the price, I was blissfully unaware of the chaos I was creating for myself.
I used Alvin Hall and Martin Lewis along with a large portion of humble pie, a huge amount of determination and my conscience to get myself out of trouble and I worked my nuts off.
I got a book (my Mum bought it for me) by Alvin Hall and Martin's advice came for free via the website/email. Neither have asked for anything (except cash for the book!) or asked me to commit to anything - not one string attached. I have taken tips and guidance from Martin and Alvin's experiences to set myself up a totally different way of doing things and I got back in control. :A
I now own my own house, I drive a great car and I am not wanting for much - apart from a bigger house and a nicer car. And a dog. :D

A lot of people use the site to take advantage of an opportunity to save money. Then there are others like me who have used it in part to take advantage of an opportunity to save or make money but mainly to learn how to do things the right way - take advantage of opportunities, stay financially safe and organised. For free.

I've often though of writing a book about how debt has impacted and affected my life and how it changed me as a person. I have thought about writing to Martin for advice on how to do it as I feel I have a story to tell that could help others (I even wrote a draft email to him but never sent it as I felt a bit silly).
The difference between Martin and I (amongst many things I guess!) is that he has had the vision and the determination to put his money where his mouth is and do something and to date I haven't. Hopefully I'll change that one day soon and yes it would be nice to be rewarded for it as well - I certainly wouldn't hide that.

Martin deserves every penny he gets from this deal. He set up the site with his own money, he was the one who worked on it and developed it. He employed people in his business as it got bigger and it his blood, sweat, tears and vision that has made MSE what it is. It would have been a lot easier for him to hire a plane to the best beach and never lift a finger again if he so chose, however he hasn't done that has he? I'm sure he could have simply sold the site lock, stock and taken the easy route and walked away, but he hasn't.
Martin has committed himself to the site for a further three years at least - now with 50 million odd in the bank that must take a huge amount of commitment and dedication from a man. Yes there is another 27million odd up for grabs but do you really think that is why Martin is staying? Really?!?
We all take advantage of and use services everyday that cost us nothing, but somewhere along the line it costs someone. If some are clever enough to build a brand that people trust and make good money from it then good for them. If they then get to sell it for a large sack of cash then all the better - I'll help to load it on the truck and wave them off.
The fact that a lot of people click through the paid links rather than the unpaid ones would suggest that there is a lot of trust in and support for Martin and what he does. Martin isn't a charity - he needs to earn a living and look after his own.

    I could go on and on and on, however I will finish with this;

Martin, thanks for providing me with a place where I have been able to support myself and deal with my previous financial issues. Even though I have been debt free for six years now I still look at the site every week - sometimes several times a week - in many ways the site is a way of life for me and many others.
If I ever get the pleasure of meeting you, which maybe one day I will, I would love to buy you a beer to say thanks. You helped to set me on the right path and you didn't even know it. Cheers!

I feel for the Board Guides on here who volunteer a lot of time and effort in to the running of the forum side of things. They are given the option of accepting £xx every 3 months for their services ( 2 figures), or can opt to recieving nothing at all.

Perhaps the board guides of present have been offered a 'little bonus', certainly the board guides of the past have not.

Just seems to me in bad taste to gain such great financial rewards, when those who have helped have not even a mention.

Can you see board guides wishing to continue on their current arrangements?

Careful - everytime anyone has mentioned the fact that BGs receive payment in the past the post has been deleted. ;)

I think we should be more concerned about the staff that keep the show on the road as duplicate functions are likely to go pretty quickly.

Good luck folks, I feel you may need it.
