He doesn't owe the sites users anything and those who think he does should get over the entitlement complex and jealousy.
I felt like a member before, a member of a free forum which prides itself on helping people in all kinds of ways.
I'm feeling a bit more like an item of stock now, sold to someone else as part of the package deal.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I don't begrudge Martin for making a shrewd business decision, however anyone who believes the site will remain totally impartial without any influence from MoneySupermarket must be incredibly naive.
Martin & the team - thanks for the advice and vouchers I've found over the years, but I won't be able to use this site to seek unbiased advice on insurance and other financial matters any more.Team Fishcake - Silly, strange, surreal and stupid original comedy0 -
I think many people are being somewhat puritanical here although Martin's personality/persona has understandably massively fuelled these adverse comments
He had an opportunity - which may not recur - to make an awful lot of money
Let's say that in 3 years time MSE had gone the way of FriendsReunited, I know he would be feeling sick. And we would hardly be having a whipround to help him out
The conditions of the sale - agreement, charity etc - seem pretty good to me from the point of view of the public
In any case, the Savings section of MSE for example is little different from the savings part of MS - it has to be
I think we now have most of the tools we need to keep getting good deals
And if anyone feels really strongly, there's nothing to stop you setting up your own site
And of course you'd never sell out for £xxm would you ...
I suspect that most of the "I won't be visiting here again" crowd will be back no - just like all those football supporters who swear they'll cancel their season ticket when their club falls to some overseas buyer
Purely selfishly though, I am disappointed0 -
Anyway, congratulations Martin on the baby
That's the most important thing today.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Should I get just one e-mail from Moneysupermarket as a result of my contract with MSE, I will be looking to sue for a breach. But as Mr Lewis is now Cat-flap and Filthy rich, I am sure he can afford to compensate.
At least now we know why he took a break, COWARD!!!
I congratulate you on your baby - but thats it!:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -
Sorry, but having worked for MS for too long (escaped last year), I can't see any way MSE will remain impartial. MS are sharks and this is the end of MSE.
And you registered just to say thatWell done for Martin for being very wealthy now,
but he has now lost all credability and the sight will now be like motley fool,
just randomn targtted spam.
Shame.....
Maybe the site will be better without youLotus-eater wrote: »Anyway, congratulations Martin on the baby

How?
That's the key.
I don't see it making much real money at the moment...Being brave is going after your dreams head on0
