My personal challenge will be to stay away from supermarkets entirely. I am going to buy all my produce from the local market ( Bury, Lancs - its a good one). Washing powder and other essentials will be bought from the £ shop. I have 8 children so usually spend about £700 per month on food and essentials. On top of that , school dinner money and bus fares cost me £65 a week. Its half term this week so a bit less to spend. My target is £500 for monthly essential shop. Glad I found this section of the site - just what I needed for a bit of support and inspiration.0

Just a quick Hi...may not complete this month's challenge.
My BIL passed this morning, & just now saving a penny or two isn't high on my list of priorities.
I wish you all well tho, & will hopefully change my mind several times over the next few weeks. Just wanted to let you know if I don't get round to updating my sigs.
Cheers then.BMFx0 -

Had a NSD yesterday as we all had coughs and colds so stayed in all day and didn't even spend any money on the net! However, today is not so good. Went into Somerfield's to get a chicken and some milk and ended up spending £8.99. Went to the Health shop for a refill on my washing up liquid and bought eggs as well £1.79. A Subway for DD (with a coupon) £2.99 and a Laura Ashley 50's style mug for me 79p. £14.56 in totalBUT DH has gone to a bike show today so goodness knows what he will spend (at least it isn't out of my grocery budget!0
