Hi
Januarys challenge went really well, so far I've spent £147.95 (my challenge is £50 per week) this month. I've got quite a bit of food left and have finally finished all the Xmas goodies off.
I'm planning in the future to try and cut it down even more but am going to carry on at £50 a week for Feb because I've decided to join Slimmers world and I don't whether this will make a difference or not.
I've also found that it is easier doing a Tesco delivery shop (even though you have to pay delivery) and then buying bread, milk and veg as needed because theres less temptation to buy cakes and sweeties,
Good luck to eveyone for the Feb challenge

I know I put this in the last month's thread, just thought I'd pop it in again, Lil-Me I'm going for a guess budget of £120
Hi Clockwatcher, unfortunately this is due to a very severe case of OCD, I have one very large freezer stuffed to the top with meat and stuff, and a small one jam packed. I also have five food cupboards full of stuff, so am sure it will be double that once I've got through this lot lol. I've also joined the declutter board, as I've the same problem with toiletries, clothes and shoes.
Good luck and enjoy.
Cheers

I want to join in
I spend a fortune...normally on biscuits and chocolate.
Not too sure how much we normally spend, it varies wildly each month but i am eating down our cupboards as we will be moving out whilst renovation works are done to the house the end of march. My cupboard and freezers are beginning to look a bit bare but i am sure i can squeeze a few more meals so all i should need to buy are bare essentials for me, OH & 3 little monsters........................I think i should budget £100. This way i won't feel hard done by but i will be trying to keep it down as much as i can as we don't have much more than that to spend month to month.Nicotine Free as of 17th December 06 :j0 -
L'il-me, can you put me down for £225 for Feb please?
(haven't quite finished on the January challenge, I will keep updating on there and post my final figures once I've finished.)
thanks

Hi
I'm starting on 1st Feb, aiming for a little more spending money this month as the cupboards are a lot emptier than they were when packed full of the results of my silly overbuying at Christmas! We have eaten through it all now
Budget for shopping, cleaning, toiletries and dog food - £200. This will cover 2 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs.0 -
This is going to sound like a massive budget, but I am going for £400 for the next four weeks, starting today. That's for two adults, six children (2 in nappies, one in night-time nappies), one dog, two gerbils and a fish - I have to adlit the fish doesn't get through a lot but every penny counts!!
Old McDonald, I would be really interested to see what your weekly shopping/meal list looks like, as your family is so similar to mine but you are doing it on so much less!
