Lidl was fine but the farm shop went awry as I got 5 bits of albeing yummy ham for £5 odd! Nearly fell off the floor!! A mistake I wont make again - while its organic & yummy I wont be having as much again!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Hi,
I've spent another £11.30 today. I am now officially over budget. But, I am not too worried, as some of it will last me over the next few month to come. It eventually will hopefully level out.
I have feeling a bit down the last few days. Two kids under 3 can really exhaust you. I feel like, I haven't got a live anymore. Hubby is at least 2 weeks a month away because of work. So everything seem to rest on my shoulders. The house constantly seem to be a tip. I like it tidy (It doesn't has to be spanking clean, just tidy. But I don't even seem to be able to keep up with that!)
I still have to make a meal plan for march and do the Mr T delivery as well. But first I have to do a stock take.
I have some leftover Roast Beef. Can anyone tell me what to do with it? I don't really eat sandwiches, and the littles don't really like chewing beef....
Egon
mince it and make either a sheps pie, with padding of veg, or what about finely chopping some veg and making it into little pasties?
Or what about mashed spud with it and make rissoles? they can have ketchup with those, so bound to be a winner!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

BUT I will be doing a large tesco shop in that!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Well I never thought I'd manage to stay out of the food shops, but DS has helped me with that one, he has a major dose of shingles (I never knoew kids could get them) so we are confined to home. Saying that I am phoneing my DH to pick up some corriander, but nothing else.
Just made some scottish toffee (tablet) as a present for someone, luckily I had all the ingrediants in. I just hope I can manage not to nibble it all before they get here:o .
Dinner tonight is leftover chicken and veg pie for 3 of us, DS will get anything I can persuade him to eat!

Holding my hand up to being guiltly of neglecting this thread of late. Its just so big and moves so fast! I keep up to date at work so i daren't spend too much time on here. So sorry to all those whose messages i cant read or thank.
As i havent been on here i havent been keeping a check on the spending either but ive just done a quick tot up of the receipts and took off the spends on shoes and a hand blender i took a fancy to (should save on washing up when i do soup!). I think i must have missed some as it just comes to £135.59. So i will round it up to £150. It still seems very low but im not complaining.
I thought i must have been missing loads off but my bank balance is getting healthier each month so I'm happy!! For the first time in 4 years my bonus hasnt been used to pay for christmas and dig me out of the overdraft. I've actually saved some and used the rest to pay a bill outright instead of paying monthly so saving me more cashflow every month!!! YAY!!!!!!0 -
Hello everyone,
We are having a good month so far, but next week I have to do a wholefood order, so that will bump it up a bit.
I haven't been doing the organic veg box, just buying what we need in town during lunch hours, and I find that keeps us on track. I'm sure I buy more than I need when I order the veg box because we have a special, i.e we order what we want, it's not chosen for us, because we grow our own as well, and what you normally get in a box is what's in season, and although we don't grow everything there is a lot of crossover.
I am planning lots more home-grown this year to get the bills down further!
Good luck to everyone - one more week to go!
BTW, there was a special offer in Somerfield this week - Nouvelle recycled toilet paper (normally v. expensive, good quality) for £2.45 for 12.

Well, two NSD's on the trot, but this is because we had a delivery from Mr. T on Wednesday (£86 for fortnight) and I also went to our Tesco Metro on Wednesday for veggies then on to M&S for potatoes. I find that just recently Mr. T's spuds are very poor, scabby and black inside, and having to throw a lot away. IMO only good for pigs. The nearest Lidl is some miles away and as I don't drive now going on the bus is a No! No! Also we live in a very expensive area of Berkshire so I'm a wee bit jealous of those near cheaper sources for groceries. Never mind though, lets look on the bright side. Thinks! now which side is that then?
got the Water Bill today, cost has gone up by over 6%. What with the forthcoming increases in power costs it's quite a worry managing to make ends meet. At least I don't have the burden of running a car so that saves around a thousand pounds a year :j
As we've only F&V + M&B to get for the rest of the month (ends on 29th) we should be on or around budget which we reduced by £2 a week this month.
Good luck to all for the rest of the month.

Egon, sorry you're feeling low, but, to quote my daughter 'bringing up kids is bl##dy hard work', so please cut yourself some slack. Try to close your eyes to some of the muddles around - hard I know, but the tidying and housework will still be there when the kids are grown; enjoy these early years, they're too soon gone! And take every opportunity to have a few minutes to yourself, do your nails, read a book, take a leisurely bath, we all need a little 'me' time.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Well, it has been some time since I last posted on this thread, and my budget wasn't doing to great even then. This thread just moves so fast I don't even try to read it anymore. Really much try (as reading it has the knock-on affect of keeping me out of the shops):
11th - £ 41.70
15th - £ 27.92
18th - £ 13.89 (included £7 for :easter_ba )
21st - £ 3.35
21st - £0.18 (at M&S cos I used up all my vouchers)
thus damage from last update is £87.04
Probably need to do a little shop of veggies, milk and bread and a few other bits but hoping to keep that to less than a £ 10.0
