Hi all,
i went online to add a bit to my asda order last night and managed to delete the whole lot and cancel the order and i don`t know how i did it
A quick call to their cs managed to sort it out though, i must admit i couldn`t stop laughing and the girl on the other end of the phone couldn`t either when we`d finished.
I very carefully went back on later to add some more to the order and although i panicked when my net connection went down it was checked out again after i reconnected - phew! i didn`t want to have to ring again , they`d have thought i was a mad woman
And now the bad news! the "puppy" is on a major growth spurt and is now up to my thigh in height and last week has been eating 6 bowls of food a day
She has done this before and settled down again and seems to be slowing down again now thank goodness as the dog food comes out of th gc budget.
I went to pets at home for a sack today and the food i buy has gone up and was £14.99:eek: the last one was only £10.99, i do make some of my own dog food as a supplement in the slow cooker but although i would like to keep them on this diet it may well have to change.
I`ll be writing down the ntritional info etc from the packaging and trying to find a close alternative.
The dog food will be spread out over the month and taking into account the extra on the asda order it will be a really close call to see if i`m under or over budget this month.
My rellies think i`m mad for doing this but the odd innocent sounding question is starting to creep into the conversation now and i keep encouraging them to come on here, lets see if any of them actually do it over the coming weeks.
Good luck all you frugal shoppers!!

Doing well! Spent another £8 stocking up on Geeta's curry sauces at Costco.
Half way thru month and still only a third thru budget. Big shop tomorrow though!Best wins: ITV Real Deal CASH,Trip to Lapland.0 -
Some great news!
I was after a bread maker after reading all your posts on here. Anyway i didnt klike the price of them so i asked MiL if she used hers much as she had a panasonic BM. She said she used to use it loads but now its just the 2 of them she finds the bread is going off before they can eat it. Now i could have given her some of your tips on keeping bread fresh but i didnt and she said i could have her machine!! Yeah ill be up and baking in no time after we get it over the weekend.:D"With no money you start to discover your own inner resource" GK Chesterton2 adults, 3 children0 -
Evening all!Went in to Co-op today and at last managed to grab some reduced stuff. :j Spent £20 on reduced braising steak, reduced stir fry pork, a reduced swede, 2 reduced nimble and WW loaves, reduced chicken fillets, BOGOF sweet/sour & lemon chicken jars, some crisps for packed lunches, frozen peas and sweetcorn that we were completely out of and crispbakes. Now that I have all that I have almost managed to plan meals to the end of the month. I only need 4 more things to make meals out of and then its just a case of top ups of milk, bread, fruit and veg.
I'm off to Exeter for a wander tommorrow so I'm going to go into a large Sains supermarket where I hope to pick up some more reduced stuff and some essential supplies that I now can't do without including cooking marg, caster sugar etc so I can keep going with the baking. OH picked up cat food in MrT's as our cat will only eat their own brand so our total spend today was £30. We have £123 left for the rest of the month so should come in on budget we hope. I'm really enjoying spending cash instead of using the debit or credit card. Must remember the calculator tom so I can keep track.
The fitness campaign started again this evening when I went for a 3 mile run with my friend. First time since before Christmas and we didn't stop so pleased with ourselves. :T
Will update signature now.

Hello-o-o lovelies!
I've been mainly absent from the GC this month due to a variety of factors - mainly my own failings - and I have just had a mammoth 3 :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: post catch up now, so I had better not clutter up the thread by replying to two week old posts, and I'll just give my update.
We have been beavering away at moneysaving though even though I've not been here, and so far this month have only spent £14.83 in the G.C.
However we now have scarily empty cupboards and I think it's time I went shopping! I do get a perverse sense of satisfaction from having used it all up though - especially towards the end when it becomes more of a challenge to make meals out of the random combination of odds and sods that remains.
Just to horrify those of you who like a good stockpilehere's what's left in my kitchen cupboards, shelves, fridge and freezer:
4 eggs
A tin of beans
320 Typhoo Teabags
Half a loaf
2 pints of milk
2.5 500g tubs margarine (two frozen)
About an oz of mozzarella cheese
Half a jar of Golden Syrup
Half a pack of muscovado sugar
1kg of porridge oats
3 kg of rice
2 apples
1 banana
Olive oil
Assorted herbs &spices plus baking soda
Not many meals left in that lot now unless I can persuade the kids to eat plain rice or teabags!
Well done to everybody who is flying this month and Chin up to those of us who are finding it tough going like I did last month
It's the half way mark for many of us tomorrow!
I must go, Hubby has just pointed out that it's Valentines Day now and he says he would like to give me my present!

HTH
Thanks Rosieben, i`ve bookmarked it and will try those soon, there was someone else who posted about dogfood and the different types they used a while back so i`ll try to find that one later as maybe those foods are the ones to look at first.
I have no idea who it was just that they fed rotties etc on it so i`ll need to do a fair amount of searching, Maybe i could mix the food with a third type to make it go further too, my mind is ticking away at the moment
Thanks for your help.

Well done Jacks xxx
Its really satisfying using things up rather than just go out and buy more but i have to say i'm one of those 'stockpilers' who would break out in a cold sweat if my cupboards were that empty! I'm panicking now cos i only have 7 tins of tomatoes left :rotfl:
Nipped into Asda last night to get some garlic bread for tea, cuold have done without it but OH loves it and he'd been hard at work on the house all day so that was another £1 - ish spent (Bread 60p, choc buttons for DD, 40p) but today should be a NSD as i have everything i need for tea. Proper shop in the morning but shouldn't need too much as i got some stuff at Tescos yesterday.
Have a good day all

Didn't even cross my mind to freeze this! I started to freeze milk last month after reading that on here, so now I really can use the BOGOF offers and buy a couple extra (especially if its the small tubs as they don't last long in our house)
