  • Hi everyone,

Spent yet another £11.87 on shopping. Can't remember what off hand but there's no treats in so it must have been essentials....oh and definitely more loo rolls. I decided to try the more expensive ones again...despite doing my own trial in the past, but no, they disappeared just as quickly off the holder so they're back to basic. :p

Got lots of reduced meat and fruit & veg, so that was something. :D

OMG! I went back to Weight Watchers tonight for the first time since the beginning of December. I'm a gold member which means that I've got to my goal weight and can go for free as long as I stay within 5lbs of my target weight. Well, surprise, surprise as I suspected I've put 6lbs on! My excuse is that I was ill over Christmas and New Year with a nasty virus and haven't been running with my friend since the end of November. I know I can lose the 6lbs in a few weeks but I now feel like I've got a double challenge to plan meals for the family that will keep within our grocery budget but also are low fat and low on points so I can lose a couple pounds a week! I refuse to buy branded WW products and we all eat the same meal so OH will probably lose a few pounds too! (not that he's got any to lose anyway!)

Any tips from other WW members or dieters would be helpful. I wonder how many points there are in my home made fairy cakes for instance as I don't want to start buying branded WW products.

    Thanks

    Hi TheBees

It's not easy to do the low grocery budget and eat low fat foods. I followed the Rosemary Conley approach until I reached my target weight and am now trying to maintain whilst keeping within my grocery budget.

So that I can monitor my calorie intake and cost of homemade cooking I tend to calculate the calories and cost of everything.

A few of the recipes that you can find on this thread have the following calories (assuming I have calculated them correctly)

Twinks Hobnobs 100 cals per biscuit (if you make 40 from the quantities in the recipe)
Economical fruit cake 355 cals per 100g (25g is a reasonable portion)
Banana loaf 260 cals per 100g (50g portion)
Marble cake 482 cals per 100g (25g portion)

wen to HomeBArgains today - i love that store - and spent £16.xx on cleaning products and wine. Now some of you might think this is an excessive amount but i was pleased with how much id saved. I bought Parazone potty wipes for 39p - im going to use them on the loo instead of the ordinary parazone wipes i usualy but for £1/something. I kind of got carried away and bought loads of packs cos what they have one week is not what they have another week. If any of you have a HomeBargain near you go and look for thye bargains!!!:T :T
