Good to see you back posting on here! Nice to see that you're still on the wagon too, you're doing brilliantly. Just think of all that spare money you'll have once this debt is gone. :)

Thanks Birdie. It's great to be back again! I need to be on here to keep myself motivated and accountable for my (self-destructive) actions!

  • Not much to report but just checking in. It's the week before OH's payday so just waiting patiently until next Friday. Not got much planned, am going to Bokwa tomorrow and might bring the kids to a family swim session on Sunday. They love the water but don't have much confidence so I want to get them more confident before signing them up for swimming lessons!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Ours was very nice and not too spendy. Did an online food shop tonight and didn't spend as much as I thought I would so definitely will get under the 5k mark on my credit card once OH gets paid. That will give me a bit of a boost.

    Hi Star,

I think that's my problem. I always sound determined but don't quite get there. However this time I'm 100% determined and will keep posting just to set myself on the right track. I've given up so many times, but this year I just want to clear 1 credit card, but a house, then clear the other card and be debt free.

Come on then - let's do it!! I am a bit afraid that I am going to lose enthusiasm as I am so close to DF so let's motivate each other :T

  • One of my big problems is issues with online shopping and buying kids clothes, from Next in particular. I think I have a bit of a problem. I rarely buy full price but I do spend lots in the sale. I have a big cupboard and it is fit to bursting with clothes that are too big for them. So I'm not buying them or me anything until we have the card cleared. The only exception is footwear, when they go up a size.

I got them both measured last week and DS is the same size. DD has gone up a size so I got her shoes in the Clark's sale for €22. She does need a pair of runners though so will need to purchase them when OH has been paid.

I also did an online shop last night to keep me out if our local Tesco as it has a huge clothes section and I find myself drifting towards it.

This will be a huge challenge for me but I have told OH, my sister and my mother not to let me inside a shopping centre for at least 3 months. I need to break this habit.

    You can do it xx

We gave similar goals here I'm aiming to clear my credit card and by a house the other card can take care of itself as it's 0% so will tackle that once the interest accruing card is paid xx

We have a drawer full of "next size up" clothes too. It's really come in handy this week. DS started school and the only thing we had to buy him was trousers as we had kept the polo shirt and jumper (both unisex) from his sister!

Good luck on your challenge. It's so easy to buy clothes for kids as they are so cute. Mind you, your two little ones are pretty cute themselves ;)
