That's a good idea, spreading the cost is definitely the way to go! Means you can take advantage of sales as they pop up too! :)

Only got 6 days (plus the hour left of today!) left to work! :j I'm so ready for the break now... or to be more accurate, my poor back is ready for the break! :p
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Hi CMD. I see you have the same attitude as me this month. Let's do this together. We can [STRIKE]kick each other up the bum[/STRIKE] spur each other on. We can do this .

Woohoo, sounds like you've got fire in your belly, CMD! You managed so much last year, I *know* you can do it this year. Think how brill it will be to celebrate Christmas with the family debt free.

    Good luck too Starnac :)

  • Thanks all for the kind words.

Lara - how are you feeling? How many weeks are you now?

So I am going over to Scotland at the end of the month to see what needs to be done to our apt before we put it the market. 2 of my close friends are coming with me too, so I will be killing 2 birds with one stone. Sort out the flat and have a girlie weekend at the same time. It will probably be the only girlie weekend I have this year!

Sounds like you are starting the year the right way.

The girlie weekend while checking the flat sounds great and good you can do both at the same time.

Hi Wendz. How are you keeping?

Yes we all get free accomodation as well as we are staying with ny tenant, who happens to be one of my best buddies, so very MSE. 2 nights away in Edinburgh for €63!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Mine has been quiet enough. Quietest birthday ever on Fri. OH and the kids had a little cake for me and then all 3 were asleep at 8 so I chilled out, had a glass of wine and watched Big Brother. Bliss!

I had to get Evies feet measured yesterday. I just got her boots from the sale section reduced from €60 to €35. Still expensive but I won't compromise on good footwear for both of them. I got my cousins baby a present from Next and something for herself from Boots but no spend cos I had vouchers. I also got a new top and fleece for a Bokwa class I am starting. I now weigh 9 stone 8 which is the heaviest I have been. I was 8 stone 2 about 3 weeks after I had Evie! So I need to get my act together

Today I think we will go to soft play to run the legs off the kids. Then I am going to meal plan for the week. My cousin is also coming to visit with her new baby so that will be lovely.

Hey CMD, you must be looking forward to getting the flat on the market. It has really picked up here in London, I hope it's the same for you guys. Great that you are getting a girlie weekend in at the same time, I hope you have a brilliant one :D

Happy birthday! Your family party sounds nice, I do like having quiet birthdays sometimes too. Sounds like you are managing to get loads of bargains - a very impressive haul on your last trip. What is Bokwa, BTW? I joined an absolute beginners pilates class which starts on Thursday, I am dreading it tbh. I will probably make a totally ejit of myself.

I'm 16 and a half weeks at the moment and things are good (touch wood). I'm starting to feel much better in the mornings and I'm getting energy back which is great. I have just felt so tired and lazy lately, and have left the house to get into a state, so lots of cleaning, tidying and maintenance to do. I can't wait until the 20 week scan at the beginning of Feb - am sure it will be no time coming around.

    Have a nice Sunday!

I am good thanks, had a quiet weekend but nice!

Your birthday sounds lovely and relaxing.

I agree about the shoes, no point in scrimping on those for the kids. Hope you had a lovely day.

    Afternoon all!

We all had the flu/heavy cold this weekend so were very quiet. I am off to Scotland this weekend to sort out my flat and see what needs to be done before it goes on the market. I am really looking forward to it and because I told OH not to buy me anything for my birthday, and my Mam gave me sterling I feel like I can treat myself to something nice, ie. food!

Apart from that not much going on. I am just eager to get this flat on the market and start saving 1000 euro per month towards the deposit. Plus pay off the debt.

In an attempt to motivate myself I have broken the house deposit into a %.

22,400 is the 8% deposit we need. We obviously need more for fees etc but when we reach 22,400 we can look for mortgage approval and start looking at houses. We have 4.46% of what we need now. If the flat sells that should increase significantly but just in case it doesn't we need to be putting money aside each month.

So OH and I have agreed to save 1000 each month for a house deposit and put whatever else is left (hopefully around 1000) into the credit cards. We do have a few expenses at the moment, namely driving lessons but OH is applying for his test this month so fingers crossed by April it will just be getting driving lessons. The fella we go to is the cheapest around by far and he is lovely but there is not much we can do to avoid lessons until we pass the test. So will try my best to put as much as I can into the credit cards to pay them down asap.
