Brilliant CMD! You're really powering through at the moment aren't you? Next time you're tempted to book a holiday, remember how good it feels to be another £1k closer to freedom
Your sig is looking really 'tidy' too, you used to have five or so different debts on there didn't you? Must be so much less stressful now!

Well done CMD! That is seriously impressive, £10840 since December- absolutely amazing work!!! :T
Just imagine once the debt is paid and that's the kind of money you could be saving instead for a house and holidays and fun treats for your littlies! :j So pleased with how you've turned things round in such a short time; this time next year you'll be well free from debt, probably sunning yourself on a well earned (NOT CC funded) holiday and feeling pretty darn proud of what you've done.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
A big thank you to both of you for cheering me on! It definitely feels like we are making big inroads to the debt. The next big one is under 10k and hope to be achieving that by the end of August!
Does everyone have a nice weekend planned? We will probably go down the beach tomorrow and then have a 5th birthday party to attend on Sunday. There will be a bouncy castle so the kids will have a ballTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

The weather is just fantastic isn't it?
We had a lovely weekend. Took the kids to the playground and a farm on Saturday and had a picnic. Then I went back to my sisters house and the kids played in the garden and we had home-made pizza, yummy.
Then on Sunday we went to a 5th birthday party. There was a bouncy castle so there was high excitement!
Now today they are gone to the beach with their Nana and Grandad while I work from home. They have a better social life than me! It really tells though because they are both so chatty and friendly with other kids and adults. Evie's language is really good and people get such a shock when such a small thing is talking in full sentences!
Moneywise - nothing is happening at the moment. Plod plod plod. OH is paid in 16 days but I don't get paid until a couple of weeks after. He is due overtime but not sure if it will be in this paypacket or the one after.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD,
Been off here for quite a while, so just looking back through my subscriptions and found your old diary - I am still managing to be debt-free, although now a single parent to Lucas.
Looks like you're still going strong on the debt-free mission... Well done and keep going... Shall subscribe to your new diary and pop in from time to time.

Hi JMF,
I am delighted to see you on here. What age is Lucas now? I love the nameSorry to hear that you are a single parent. I have lots of admiration for you. I spent Mon-Thurs alone for a year with 2 kids whilst OH commuted to the UK and it was extremely hard.

Am back again! So long since I have been on here. Been having a great summer with the kids going to the beach, the park etc etc.Max started playschool last week and seems to love it and I have being potty training Evie since he started and *touchwood* I think we may have cracked it! It is her 2nd birthday in a couple of weeks but we are having a party for her next week, can't wait
Moneywise, I need to tighten the reins as I have been overspending. We did buy a car and didn't need to put anything on a credit card or anything so am quite proud of that. However, we have a lot more disposable income than we ever did so I need to start paying off the debts with it, rather than buying childrens clothes (my weakness).
I have recognised this though, and from next month (when OH gets paid) the money will start going off it again. We have Xmas savings of €217 and aim to have €1000 for Dec towards presents, although this may dip as I start to buy the kiddies presents but at least it is accounted for. I am not going overboard like last year as although I didn't spend much, the amount overwhelmed them. So this year I think we will get Max a bike and a Disney cars truck with 10 cars & some stocking fillers. And with Evie we might get her a pram/bike & a toddler bed (Peppa Pig or Minnie Mouse!) & some stocking fillers.
I am also aiming to have the BOI credit card gone with the last December paypacket, leaving with a debt of about £6700.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

That is fantastic CMD! What a difference a year will make, if you are hitting December with only £6700 to go! Think of all that frivolous spending you'll be able to do at some point next year when you are DF
I hope you will have a nice holiday to celebrate.
