Great news about getting the balance transfer! I'd count that as a completed JDIJ! :TOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Thanks Birdie and Tete! I think I will!

Well done on resisting CMD! I'm not going away this year either if that's any consolation, and I'm the same as you - love my travel! Trying to think of the bigger picture and having 12 weeks' holiday a year (or whatever it is) in my new career to go where I please!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Well done for resisting the lure of the holiday! I know how difficult it must be but it's for the best! Think about the wonderful holiday you can enjoy when you're debt free!
Oh God, I'm going to be so jealous of you when you can start bragging about all your holiday time Tete! Makes my paltry 25 days a year feel very dismal indeed!
How's this for a buggy of the day?!
Not that I'm thinking about things like this yet. Oh no. Definitely not!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Daft as it sounds Birdie try lifting any buggies when you go to try them out. Some of them push really nicely but weigh a ton and you'd never be able to lift them into the car without help! Also check how easy they are to fold, one of the ones we've had (briefly, think it was the my4 - HATED that one) was really wierd and when it folded the top of the seat was lower than the wheels so ended up on the ground - really rubbish if it was raining or we were somewhere mucky. We got a travel system first, I wanted the whole 'can put car seat straight onto frame' thing, and you know how many times I actually did that? Twice! Everything says its better for their spine if they're laid flat and at that age they just go straight back to sleep when moved, so I always moved her into the carrycot on the pram instead if I was going to be having her out for more than 30mins. I traded our icandy for a babystyle oyster and I love it, especially since you can change all the colour packs on it for £40 which is very handy if you fancy a change or they need to go in the wash as they're covered in baby sick! Basket under it isn't big enough though, can't get the changing bag in it.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thanks for the advice, I've been told the same thing by 3 people now! Clearly everyone makes the same pram buying mistakes first time round, but it honestly wouldn't occur to me to *not* check how light it is and how easy it is to fold/build etc, especially with my extra-cautious-when-making-any-big-purchases OH making 50% of the decison!
God help us when we do start to actually shop for baby things, it'll take us 3 months to settle on the right one... and no doubt we'll find flaws and regret the purchase once the baby's in it!

Not only do you need to check how light it is/easy to fold etc you need to check it fits in your car boot! My pram doesn't fit in my mum's boot so she had to buy a smaller buggy for up there. We actually took the pram with us when we bought a new car and tried out a lot of boots to see how it fitted and how easy it was to get it in. You can imagine how pleased the salesman was with me!Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Under 14k now!!! Well just about
We cleared OH's overdraft.
The rest of the month will be quiet now until payday. Which is only 3 weeks away! I don't get paid the same time as OH though, and it is my wages we are overpaying with so I don't know when I will be able to make a payment again. Although OH has been doing some overtime, but I'm not sure if he will be paid that this month or next.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
