If I start getting any other symptoms rather than pain in the one area I'll shoot down to either the hospital of walk in clinic, but I just don't want to spend a whole evening somewhere being given 2 weeks antibiotics when the damn thing will probably clear up anyway. I tried the hot flannel but it was agony. I think because it is so inflammed, it was trying to come to the surface but was just so sore and stingy.0

Don't have a bath! When I did I never got anything like this, but living in a studio flat with shower only. Tempted to fill up a bucket and sit in it watching corrie!! Although I think the bf would be pretty shocked lol0

It's ridiculous that you have to wait more than two weeks to see a doctor, you should ring them first thing tomorrow and tell them that you need to see someone soon and that it cannot wait.
This sounds as though it could be a carbuncle, which is a boil with multiple openings. It will not be cured by using savlon, mag sulph paste or anything else, it will quite possibly need antibiotics and a dressing. You may start to feel quite unwell if it is not treated so please do see a doctor asap. The pain will get worse too so you really need to get it sorted!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
My doctors are the worst. Try point blank refuse, and say if it's an emergency I need to go to hospital!! I doubt they would be overjoyed with me sitting there with a boil!!!
I'm reading about carbuncles but my thing isn't oozing or anything. Infact it's just sitting under the skin causing pain! I'll go to the walk in clinic if it's not feeling any better in the morning, I just hope lancing isn't needed!!! I would try anything else before that!0 -
I had something similar to this a few years ago, whilst on holiday, unable to get to a doctor, and with a very limited First Aid kit. In desperation, I tried Tea Tree Oil, dabbed on with cotton wool. It stung like a b1tch, but within an hour it had drawn the boil, and the lightest touch with a sterilized needle released the pus.
I know how horrid and embarrassing it is, hope you find some relief soon.Don't put it DOWN, put it AWAY!You can't expect to Fly if you're still wearing your pyjamas! :j:j:j0 -
Could it be an acne cyst? I get these all the time unfortunately and they are really painful, I have 5 small ones on my chin at the moment and it honestly feels like I have been punched in the face at its worst. Luckily they are slowly clearing. I have had them in other random (embarrasing!) places too, yours sounds very bad though so personally I would phone nhs direct now for advice and then phone your doctors in the morning and say you need an emergency appointment.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0

You have my sympathy! I know what you're going through. I used to get a lot of those, right on the knicker elastic line and inside , and the only way was to ride it out I'm afraid. Hot flannels are the best I could come up with that helped a bit and made me feel as if I was doing something, and a good dose of paracetamol and nurofen when it as really bad. I also used to to cover the external ones with a plaster, that helped to stop pants chafing on it. Hubby has popped many of them over the years bless him.
Do you eat a lot of sugar? I found that I had flare ups after sugar binges. Also it seems to be more common if you have PCOS (as I have)0 -

I was going to suggest Tea Tree Oil. i find it brilliant for any kind of spot, bite or wound.
Could it be an abcess? My DH had one right near his bottom, it was so painful. Lucily his GP saw him the same day and sent him straight to the hospital to have it lanced.0 -
Can't add anything to the good advice you've been given above, but when you do get to see your GP make sure you're checked for diabetes (if you haven't been already). Recurrent boils can be a symptom. PCOS is another possibility, as mentioned above, since this often involves insulin resistance.0
