Just come out of mr t's. Got a microwave advertised at £49.50 went through at £99. Went to cs desk and manager refused dtd. Phoned customer service who first agreed with me I was due dtd but then lady walked off with the phone had a half hour discussion to pass me the phone back and be told no we're refusing it as offer had ended yesterday even though offer was still advertised on a4 yellow card. Very sad and looks like they'll be no jacket potatoes for tea tonight :(

    Regular Dtder?

If so then admit defeat (I've been there, got the t-shirt...:o)

If not, a email to the CEO should get you something back. Maybe not £99 but certainly £5/10 gift card as apology for breaking the law and overcharging you.

Yes if you have paid for a product which is advertised at a lower price yet charged a higher price then you could threaten with trading standards ;)
  • i am new on here, how is it you find out when things are scanning wrong? is it just by chance of going into the shop? i am seeing loads of folk adding these things to sites but unsure how they find out about it all thanks

Yes, it is mostly by chance during a shop. Sometimes the reduced prices are labelled, other times they have been reduced on the general system but labels haven't been updated. But yes, often it's found by chance.

Scanning is lazy and brain rotting.
Prices should be jotted down as items go into trolley. Involve children - it's fun and painless learning on many levels - values, sums, co-ordination, reasons for choices, cursive skills. Pen and paper does the job.
Never leave any shop before checking your receipt, then go the CS for appropriate remedy.
Keep calm, courteous, but entirely insistent.
Always accompany any CS back to place of error, just in case original ticket 'disappears'.
Have Mr T Freephone no. off by heart: 0800505555. Rarely necessary, but useful.
Remember wombling and using your own bags for extra points/money off coupons.
These things have all been set out before, but reiterated here for newbies.

    Good luck.

Got a few of these a couple of weeks ago 50 priced at £1.29 100 at £1.19
  • Saw a copy of Splinter Cell Blacklist at Mr.T's in Barnstaple today with a big yellow sticker saying £20, down from £25, but when i self scanned it to check (just out of idle curiosity) it scanned at £44, so if my maths are correct (not often!) you pay £44 then with the £24 overcharge you should get £48 back for dtd, which in my maths works out at you being paid £4 to take the game away.
This was in the original store by homebase and Argos etc, not the new'ish one at Severn Brethern, there were yellow stickers on a few copies at lunchtime, i did'nt bother scanning any others but there was quite a few other games with big yellow stickers on them.

Did you go for DTD? :)
  • Did you go for DTD? :)

    It wasn't an overcharge :S

Worth checking SELs for Iru Bru tomorrow morning ;)

If they have a SEL saying £3.09 or 2 for £2. Go for it :p
Probably most like will either get charged full price or 2 for £4 (which was what the originally offer was meant to be, but you know mr t isn't brilliant at their pricing :D)
