Scanners are usually hidden, broken, disconnected or other. You'll be lucky to find one that works - usually in clothing department. Failing that ask some unsuspecting employee from another department to scan item, pretending there's only that one left on the shelf, or you forgot to bring your glasses, whatever!

Tesco website doesn't always match up with offers given in store. I've had to get refunds or leave stuff at the till several times recently as there have been discrepancies.
I only know of one store out of about 10 that I visit where the scanners actually work.
The pharmacy and opticians can both perform price checks but I don't know if their screens say if there is still a multi-buy on the item.0 -
Got 2 packs of 12x Bird's Eye potato waffles (680G) today in my Extra, SEL stated £1 offer ended 23/07. Charged £1.50 got DTD no quibbles thus making them 50p/pack.0

I'm new to this money saving stuff and saw today in T's some Ariel on offer with the SEL saying offer expired yesterday but was disappointed to find it scanned through at the offer price
Couldn't find the in store scanner either to check.
Will wait for posts before trying next time as can't afford to keep trying.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -

Hi, I can't seem to find this answer anywhere, and may sound dumb, but what does DTD stand for?2012 Aims: Ipad, Smartphone, Tyrells Crisps (big supply), Nintendo 3DS.
Thanks to all those who post comps, you're amazing!!:T0 -

Hi there, I am very new to this DTD, what does R&R stand for? (i've looked on the first page but no joy!) Also is there a list regarding which items scan through incorrectly and are eligible for DTD?:j:j:j0

R&r = refund and retain, an old now ended policy where if you were overcharged even by a penny you got all your money back and kept the item (sadly missed by many).
A list is not a good idea as too easy for tesco to copy, I make my own list on my phone. Also not wise to post store etc when you get dtd.0 -
