This thread is for posting the misprices only. Discussion about the DTD policy should be posted in this thread

This thread is for posting any misprices you find at Tescos which give rise to a DTD opportunity.

For new readers:

For clarification SEL stands for Shelf Edge Label and DTD stands for Double the Difference.

the Tesco policy on signs instore is :-

"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund you double the difference"

The thread for discussing JTD spots is here

Please try and keep this thread for reporting of misprices (and questions about them) and not for chat or moans about Tesco in general. Otherwise the important bits of information get lost amongst the chatter and people can't find the info they need quickly and easily. Thanks :)

This is my first bargain so please be gentle!

Legs and half legs of lamb are half price at Tesco. I grabbed 2 at my local store (W*lling). One had a half price sticker, the other didn't, they both had the individual prices on the labels, one was £5.77, the other one (which didn't have the half price sticker) had a price of £11.77). When I paid, one went through as half price, the one without the sticker went through at full price.

I went to customer services and she said no prob, I'll give you £6 back and I said, oh I thought it should be DTD. She said no as it didn't have a half price sticker on. I said yes but the shelf edge label said half price so she eventually relented and refunded me £11.77.

    Hope that makes sense!

    Just got my first dtd!

Nerf thunderstorm water gun. Standard shelf location ticketed at 12.96 and promotional area had it at 14.96. Ticket on lower price expired on 27/5.

Scanned at 14.96 so got 4 quid back. Wouldnt pay 15 quid for it but is worth 11 alright ep a you dont have to pump it to prime it so good for my 5 year old! Although you do need 4 xAA batteries to make up for the fact you dont pump it!

I had a weird one this afternoon...this may be store specific but I dont know how the SELs are printed.

I went to get some Capri Sun's 5pk @ 1.86 as the 10pks are 2.99 or 2 for £5, But noticed the SEL stating Capri Sun "Champions" on the left hand side of the SEL, but on the right was £1.86 BOGOF cherry coke, coca cola. I looked again and it looked like the right hand side was a old coca cola offer.. looking at all the other 5 pk Capri Suns they were all marked £1.86 so I grabbed 10 of the "Champion" packs tropical flavour all scanned at £1.86 went to CS and got refunded £18.60 they didnt know how it happened either?

My local was the $taly8r1dg£ branch...they did remove the SEL after I went to CS

Picked up the Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy BluRay/DVD Steelbook today. SEL stated £11.00 but charged £17.97. Got DTD £13.94 back so only cost £4.03!!

I think they were going to try and argue that the SEL stated DVD (which it did) however, the DVD itself was placed on a separate display priced at £6.98

My local has the packs of 6 x 568ml bottles of Magners dotted around the store in stacks. Most of the stacks had been updated to £9.00, but one still had a £6.00 SEL.

I couldn't be bothered getting any myself, but I saw a couple picked two packs up from the £6.00 stack, so I explained to them that they would be overcharged and how they should go about getting DTD.

I got me 2 x legs of lamb totalling £47.55 as they were not marked half price, took them to CS and the lady there didn't even question me, she automatically gave me DTD @ £24.30 + £23.32 (=£47.62) refund which means I got 2 free legs of lamb and 7p for the privilege of taking them out of the store.

She said there was 4 other joints without the stickers on which she had removed - how many people would have the gall to to this for all 6 joints? I felt weird reporting 2 joints :D

I placed an order online with Tescos, and I ordered 16 Cherries (which were half price) and they charged me £44 on my bill, yet they should have cost 62p. Am I entitled to double the price back = £88??
