Is it just me or do cloudberries sound like the most wonderful food in the world ever?
It's like a family of birds I found out about in Aus last w/e called the Fairy Wrens, examples of which include the Splendid Fairy Wren and the Superb Fairy Wren.
This is a Splendid Fairy Wren:
There's been no funny business with the colour either, that's what they actually look like.
Ooh! He'd look great in lir's bird lamp. :rotfl:Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When you have a lampshade, how do you know if it's likely to burst into flames? There are so many instructions to DIY online, but none ever mention proximity to bulb, maximum bulb strengths, type of glue .... I'd be scared they'd catch light.
And for those who haven't read the thread about birds/cages, here's the type of thing we're referring to ... http://www.grahamandgreen.co.uk/bird-cage-lamp
One old cage and a bunch of these at £2 each http://www.etsy.com/listing/93378072/vintage-felt-bird-blue-and-white-with?ref=sr_gallery_13&ga_includes[0]=materials&ga_search_query=bird+with+real+feathers0 -
Brrr.
Bit chilly tonight, huh? I just hopped out of the shower and usually that keeps me warm for a while but tonight the water felt very hot and the air felt very cold, lol.
I still love that lamp.
Planning copper leaf for loo ceiling (plan gold...or Dutch metal leaf elsewhere, but thought a smaller room might be handy to get used to the technique in!). And trying to decide on under coat colour. Apparantly yellows, like ochre, add brightness, whereas red ands depth. Yellow probably most apt for a small room with no window that I might paint a very dark colour!0 -

Could you use a low wattage bulb?
And perhaps some of this:

For fire risk, the thing that matters is the actual wattage of the bulb, not the equivalent brightness wattage. So just get some kind of v efficient A-rated bulb, and everything should be fine. Although non-flammable materials are probably a good idea too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
