Yellow probably most apt for a small room with no window that I might paint a very dark colour!
It'll be like the black hole of calcutta... you'll need to issue people with a torch, map and whistle when they go ....

Could you use a low wattage bulb?

    And perhaps some of this:

Well, I'd just seen some destructions for making a shade using bog roll and glue .... which you mix together in a bowl, then blow up a balloon, dip the balloon in the goo, wait for it to dry, pop the balloon ... and voila.

For fire risk, the thing that matters is the actual wattage of the bulb, not the equivalent brightness wattage. So just get some kind of v efficient A-rated bulb, and everything should be fine. Although non-flammable materials are probably a good idea too. :)
I know that is true but what I always find curious is how warm the plasic bit of energy saving bulbs get even though they are low wattage - I suspect they are not very good at radiating or conducting the heat away despite the lower power being input.

For some reason the iPad offers mâch! with the right accent on the 'e' then chanes it to an "!" when I post.

On revisiting the page, it's that blue stuff you get on a roll on garage forecourts.

I think I could get into making lampshades....... not with loo roll though.

Edit: It IS loo roll ... just my exceptionally small/bad laptop screen made it look bigger/blue :)

I'm starving.... but lodgers can't go and start cooking big breakfasts at 3am :)

If it were my house .... right about now I'd be giving up on the idea of sleeping and turning the telly on and firing up the toaster and kettle.

Heehee, I was asleep by the time you asked that.

Yep, just as you foretold a bit creaky and tired but still feel like a human. This morning have just done the very basics and now nipped back to the warmth of bed with a cuppa chai with my cats before egtting up for the day.
