It's better than being eaten by sharks, swimming in an ocean pool.
Some 37 years ago, I learnt to swim in Sydney Harbour, here.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
The car failed the MOT as expected....we made the decision to do what needs to be done to get it through this year with the expectation to replace in the next 12 months.
Apart from that, I have had a great day today. Started off having to go into the high school as they have messed up yet again with youngest, which had the affect of him going into meltdown, stress mode last night, so that had to be sorted. Then it was time to drop the car off.....
And then me and lovveerrrr met up and spent a lovely day around about the town, my parents, out to a posh cafe for a cream tea, pick the boys up from school etc. It was so nice to have adult time and for once, no major disasters at school to have me running over there (think I scared them this morning with my complaint, so they were being ultra vigilant that the TA's were where they were supposed to be for once)We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

you do have to be fairly careful on how you buy things though. we bought a year's supplies of dishwasher tablets with the last glitch and it was the lovely finish stuff. I'm back to el cheapo now and i can tell the difference
Also washing powder, we haven't used up the last ones. and hand soap. these things store and will be used.
It's a lot of work but it's worth it if you use it and you have the space to store it. missed the asda one as the nearest one is 10 miles away and we just whack the waitrose reductions now0 -

Yay! Glad you had such a great time. This is why I think working part-time could be worth the financial hassle for you. You have had almost no adult time for years and years, and you deserve some now. But of course I'm with the rest of the NP in being right behind you in whatever you decide.
Hope the car isn't too expensive.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I only know 105 of them, I understand many more have been added since I memorised them at 13.
The rain and wind is so bad down here today..got to think of things to entertain my two year old now, as park is a no-go today.

Anybody know the MSE thread the article refers to?
Firstly thanks to Silvercar who alerted me to this. I have had about 100 in vouchers which probably means about 60 quid saved.
There is a poster called henlans who I suspect is doing the publicity side of it - he is very much disliked on the thread were it is considered very bad form to boast about how much you have, cheating the£100 max and generally seeking publicity (he was in 'The Grocer' a couple of days ago too.
It is a good deal but only on a limited set of products and Asda have known for a while but apparently it is not an easy fix so they have imposed day £15 per voucher per day limit for the time being. I was pwned by this - Saturday I shopped under the old T&C and got a voucher for £23 but was away from the printer - went to print it on Sunday and it was capped at £15. Seems to me retrospective changes to T&Cs is not good CSI think....0 -

I can. At one point I knew the whole thing from memory, but the second half tends to get a bit muddled now. The first half I can still do pretty well, though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? This morning, demonstrating an experiment to my 6th formers:
"Hmm, I wonder why the current keeps dropping. Perhaps the resistor is getting hot...."
Spent the rest of the morning clutching an ice cube in a plastic bag between my thumb and forefinger. At least I felt it with my left hand. Feel very stupid for making such a basic mistake, but arguably the techs should not have set the thing up with only 10 ohms attached to a 12V power supply.Do you know anyone who's bereaved?
