You used to talk in terms of getting your "14 yards swimming certificate", which meant you could swim the width of the pool .....
When it comes to 50m pools, there are two types: Olympic sized and non-Olympic. Both are 50m long, but whether they are Olympic or not depends on other factors, such as the number of lanes. Olympic sized is 50m long, 25m wide - 10 lanes. Other criteria include the lighting, depth, water temperature and overall volume.
The UK has only 8 that meet this criteria, but about another dozen 50m pools of lesser width etc.
Wow! Who knew that?
In that case I think I've swum in 2 Olympic pools: the Olympic Pool in Homebush, Sydney, which had big signs up saying, "DO NOT SWIM IN THIS POOL" (exactly like 'Wet Paint') and The Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, the photo I posted with the curvy roof which I believe was a training pool for the Olympics here.
Anyhoo, it's late so I leave you all with this:

Yes and i alerted NP to it a week or more ago. I think Michaels has joined in.
It is the most popular running thread on the "its gone was it any good" sub-board of the "grabbit" board. The thread hits 10k posts every week or so and then restarts, making it slightly harder for supermarkets to keep up with it.
There were people boasting and showing stash pictures of 3 years supply of shampoo and dog food on there, until they deemed it unsavoury. There is a lot of chit-chat to sift through to get the gems.
Its also a complicated glitch requiring exact multiples of certain items to bring the price down of others.
Current thread here:

Here I am thinking I spoke too soon about the nice lakeside lodge in Canada.
My sis in Canada sent me this pic of something she spotted 'in the wild'. She doesn't say where, but I'm hoping it's not our lake!

Yeah I seen it some time ago. It really was no good for me, and there's no point faffing around to save on stuff I'd never use. Anyway there's no Asda near me.
I do like the grabbit board, and I've saved thousands using it. I bought a top range Sony TV over two years ago from M&S online. List price was around £1,200 but there was a glitch on it, and I got it for £459 once I'd gone through Quidco etc. 5 year guarantee as well!
Yesterday was my latest find. I picked up two mixed case of fairly decent wine for £38 i.e. £1.58 a bottle :beer:0 -

As a rule, I never save any money because I don't buy stuff.... and I'm confident that the things I do buy I am getting for the right price, today, on the stores I have access to ..... I'm happy to pay an extra 5p for a lump of cheese if the alternative is a 3 mile extra drive to another shop perchance they've got a cheaper one in stock0 -
