The only exception I would say to that is that if you want to put in a disability so you can sue for not getting interviews: it is for the interviewer to prove that you weren't considered despite your condition. I reckon there's a living to be made from suing potential employers for discriminating on disability grounds.
some employers (incl mine) have a publicly stated policy that they must interview you if you declare that you have disability as part of your application, so it may sometimes be worth declaring it from that point of view.0 -

Tell the boys to be quiet, for goodness sake. No bad singing or swearing this afternoon.
EDIT: I've told him to shush, which he said they weren't doing and apologised. He said he would, just as drilling sounds nearly deafened me down the phone. Oh dear.
(Doozerdog was absolutely insistent that he wanted a weeandapoo at 3am)
Oh doozer, i'm fine. Didn't hear a drill at all. Was dead to the world all morning. Feel ready and able to take on the world..
They do not have to shh for me. I went up. Put radio four on, attended to emails and phone calls and then slept to the sound of radio four.0 -

It's not "my dream job".... it'd just serve the purpose of proving somebody likes me ... and I have low expectations so I don't feel down when I get the "No thanks" letterThey're not a big/important company, so it's no loss if my superb and quirky services are not required.
I have been in a similar situation in recent times.
I think they can sometimes 'sense' if your heart isn't in it. Of course, it could just be my natural paranoia
Muneh lenders eh? It was a PPI firm in my case. I can't say I like the level of commission these outfits make for filling in a few forms and hassling the banks.0 -

Do I have morals? No.
so you're either going to be carol vorderman or one of the puppets from a wonga.com advert?0 -

I applied to be backup stunt mug for Wonga, in case "Earl" breaks his main mug.
Speaking of Wonga, I quite enjoyed Ann Robinson ripping into one of the bosses of Wonga on Watchdog. They struggled to mount a defence that their online security, validation, and verification mechanisms were anything other than a joke.0 -

Yup, that's true for many I've seen as well. Don't know if that's more of a public secgtor than private sector thing though.
i think it is more a "big organisation" thing, where there is more likely to be a big HR dept sitting around and coming up with a "diversity strategy". i think some of the supermarkets e.g. do something similar.
whether the policy is for PR purposes, or is an actual and genuine attempt to help people with disabilities, is obviously another matter entirely!0 -
I don't mention being speshul. None of their business if I can hide it.... I spent enough years/decades not knowing, so no need to let on now.0

sounds like a lot of hard work. can you not get them to pay you £250k for wandering around the offices above the hospital with a clipboard instead?0
