Strangley, feel oretty good for 27ish waking hours on the trot now, and no drugs involved. Having a cup of tea and dealing with corespondance before hitting the hay for a couple of hours. Meeting a carpenter this afternoon to see if he and we are compatible.
Nooo! Are you okay?
Tell the boys to be quiet, for goodness sake. No bad singing or swearing this afternoon.
EDIT: I've told him to shush, which he said they weren't doing and apologised. He said he would, just as drilling sounds nearly deafened me down the phone. Oh dear.

I feel a bit bad about my spelling on here as I fear it gives the impression that I don't care enough about what you guys think to get it right...and of course that is true but only because I think you are probably happy if you can get the meaning.
Most computers I have the reg squiggly add-on but I don't have it on the net-book for some reason. Emails are always 'spell check on send' but both of those make me type first and check later as I type twice as fast that way. IN fact a lot of my posts I correct nice time I read them - otherwise it would be even worse!!
LIR I hope you are OK, how about a post lunch nap?I think....0 -
I don't spellcheck, nor do I use any red squiggles or "check before ...." features.
I just type stuff.....

How does this sound as a personal statement?
"After spending the last 6 years dealing with the needs of my three children, two of whom have autism, I [STRIKE]believe it is now time for me[/STRIKE] am looking forward to the opportunity to return to the workplace as their demands on me have lessened.
In the intervening years, I have built up a website forum which requires the ability to be able to work to a [STRIKE]very tight[/STRIKE]deadline, manage a team of people (approx. 60 team members), work as part of that team, deliver a high quality, accurate service whilst also providing [STRIKE]good [/STRIKE] excellent customer service to all our service users, all skills which I believe are [STRIKE]highly[/STRIKE]transferable to a working environment.
[STRIKE]I do have a disability which requires the use of a crutch but I believe that this will not have an adverse impact on my ability to do the vacancy for which I am applying for, as I need no modifications to my work station, work methods or hours.[/STRIKE]"
Honest feedback please.....
IMHO remove the bits I've crossed out and add the underlined bits.
Important bit: any disability/health needs should not be addressed in a CV. It is (or at least was) illegal to look at a disability or illness if it doesn't preclude the job being completed satisfactorily with suitable equipment that it is reasonable for the employer to supply. The only exception I would say to that is that if you want to put in a disability so you can sue for not getting interviews: it is for the interviewer to prove that you weren't considered despite your condition. I reckon there's a living to be made from suing potential employers for discriminating on disability grounds.
PS None of what I say is meant to be a put down/rude, I'm just trying to help.0 -

I could have just filled in their application form if our printer had been working and on there it asked for expected salary...begger if I know, I'll take anything, even minimum wage.
I know what I used to be worth in that sector but I haven't a clue now, probably not much more or even the same as a junior despite my being at manager level before. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Go Gal! Will you still talk to us once you have a posh job?PasturesNew wrote: »Interview tomorrow afternoon. Two parts:

It's a ritin' job init.... doin' ritin, like wot I duz well
Applied for something else, but they thought my CV would be good for this other role they have. Forgot to ask about muneh .... so no idea if it's £10k or £100k.
Better start poking around in the few bags of clothes I've got here .... for an interview outfit. Thought I'd dug out my jackets/similar last week, but when I got it back here and unpacked it, it was all sheets and throws.
Edit: Email received, they're Muneh lenderz......
Edit 2: Googled job/them .... certainly a bunch of stuff in their "wants" list that I feel I'd fall short of.... oh well. Gets me out of the house for a few hours.
Edit 3: The bottom line is the job is to increase the number of people suckered into high APR loansDo I have morals? No.

No worries, I didn't take it as being rude or as a put down. The offending parts were removed last night in the first rewrite anyway. We made it! It's not "my dream job".... it'd just serve the purpose of proving somebody likes me ... and I have low expectations so I don't feel down when I get the "No thanks" letterThey're not a big/important company, so it's no loss if my superb and quirky services are not required.

Well, at the very least locating/ dusting off your CV and interview outfit are no bad thing. Nor is updating your interview experience.
On the other hand, I always tell myself that even if the job isn't quite what I was after there is potential for it to 'evolve', be a foot in the door for other jobs in the same place. Or just be something to fill some space on the CV.0 -
I've got a navy jacket and black trousers.... which need ironing and the hem taking up. That'll do. Need to check the weather though as I've no coat. Then there's the bag thing .... no bag to shove a mac into. In fact, come to think of it, no appropriate bag whatsoever... I just have a beach bag.
Usually I'd drive to an interview, but there's no obvious parking there ... and it's only 1.5 miles on foot, so I'll be walking. Well, probably walking there, hobbling back slowly
I checked the website .... they're all 25-30 years younger than me.... which tends to mean rejection on the basis I'm "a bit older than the other candidates... who are 'just like them'" On the other hand, they're an odd-looking lot, so I might be quids in0
