Endocrinologist appt booked in now too.
. After that i will willingly succombe to the lumbar puncture, as i will have felt all bases i can reasonably expect to be covered will have been.
Incidentally, it took the nhs secretary two and a half weeks to send the letter, and the private secretary saw date I had seen gp in the letter and telephoned to book in IMMEADIATeLY.
I was eaking to someone at PALs about something else this week and they said when i am refered in the gp to nhs it should be done via email while i sit there, and they should show me or give me a print out. That has NEVER ONCE happened to me, though have had that gp has said he is making the 'urgent referral today, now' so i guess that is once. Never twice happened to me then.
Eit...no, i was wrong, a week and a half to send the etter. Not two and a half. That was my mstake. What happened was i called last week and asked when it would be sent ( as speaking to the endocrinoloists sec they had had no referral) and the go's secretary said she should have it done by thursdy, if not definitely next week or call her again.0 -
There are people for whom the system works ..... and people for whom all the "should do ... then they ...." doesn't work. Those who glide through the system spit at you as if it's your fault that your progress was flawed....
As for the act of finding out "what should happen" ... black art.... black hidden art....0 -
If you'd like to put me on the map I'm in Sheffield for the time being.
But, I don't really feel like a(n) NP, I just kind of pop in now and again! I'm a bit bitter about life as I don't have proper jobs or relationships to talk about. Although, I suppose a lot of people would feel envious of me for that
I had a really nice afternoon with a lovely young lady, whom I thought things were going ok with, but she sounds to be still hung up on the last bloke she was with, so I'm not sure. She's just moved house, so I said I'd take her to Ikea, as I have a car (he doesn't) which was all very nice, but I didn't end up buying anything. So I basically just taxi'd someone to Ikea and back (an hour there and back) for pretty much nothing! As I say I'm in Sheffield and the nearest Ikea is Leeds. may be worth it in the end but I'm not sure...
Been thinking about this.
Its a really bad habit to talk about exs with peole who might be futures. Sometimes i think peoe do it subconciously to drive home that they are attractive, you should want them.
How long since the break up...is she really ready to move on? If so and you like her then i would personally cut to the chase. iKEA is enough to drive commited couples into depression and ennui with relationship. Step up and ask the girl out to something....supper?
If this is talking after the ball is, um. Rolling with you, tell her you like her, you want to do well but its time to stop talking about ex when you are maybe making memories for your future.....0 -

i was thinking about your experience of being lost in the system. when i was hospitalised (having passed out) they were desperate to admit me because an x-ray showed i had an enlarged heart and also my pulse was below 50. they wanted to stick me on heart monitoring equipment for 48 hours etc.
at that point in time i was doing an average of 2 hours of cardio a day, so none of the things they had "discovered" were particularly suprising to me, which i tried explaining to them, but to no avail. i was also being sick a lot and running a temperature, with flu like symptoms, which they didn't seem interested in focusing on as the possible cause.
all i wanted to do was go home and sleep in my own bed. eventually they released me on the basis that i would come back for outpatient monitoring. the doctor wouldn't discharge me until he had gone and logged this all and drafted the letter to me which would then be sent in the post, so that took another 2 hours. it took another hour to get the drip taken out of my arm - i was on the verge of just pulling it out a nurse eventually agreed to stop gossiping about x factor and take the 20 seconds to remove it. eventually i got out at 1.30am having been admitted at about 6pm.
no letter ever turned up. i phoned the hospital and they had no record of me being there. i explained what the issue was and they said there was nothing they could do as i had never been there and i would have to go to my GP and get a referral to see a specialist. needless to say i didn't bother...0 -

What were you looking for as "payment"
.......anyway, as they say the best things are worth waiting for'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Chewy,....thats pretty dreadful, don't you think? (btw if i was your missus you would have been to gp, its funny, i won't let dh get away with normal man acoidance of gp).
Discharging yourself is the way most of my trips end.. I'm not proud of that. My sister once came to get me with her kids and she laughed that with most people in films irs a dramtic pull out of wires and storm off, with me it was careful makeing sure i had enough pills or requesting a prescriptiopn, some frantic stuffing of stuff into a bag, and then, on that occasion what really cracked her up was the slowest shuffle on a zimmer ever seen as an escape. (i had refused a chair but in truth it would have got me out quicker" but they did not insist on chairing me to the door. I think maybe they tthought i would give up the escape en route. It took me almost an hour to shuffle out, lol. )

Imagine how bad healthcare must be in places like France and Australia as the NHS is the Envy Of The WorldTM.
The weather is going to be $#17 this week here, grey and rainy and $#17. Luckily Mrs Generali is good with me using her bicycle to get into work as it's super-comfy; a bit like cycling a leather wing-backed chair into work.0 -
Ph and chewy, my sister keeps fit, and had a terrible childhood accident that saw her in hospital regularly til she finished growing. Also was under care of medical teams for mental health issues and her pregnancies...through all of this they still missed a congenital defect in her heart, that she would have dismissed as a natural reaction to exercise etc in the way you have.
Please, please have someone check it out. Please?0
