    Fixed it for you.

Is this a good price for Moroccan hair oil? Problem is best value is for 3 bottles and we haven't tried it in the kids hair before.
    I think....

Now the love goggles are gone you must be realising more everyday how much better you are off now.
Its such an odd feeling that. Nasty ex, i am over but i remember also the self dislike for having been so stupid.

Just told the story to my mum. Her saying 'Well, at least you have learnt something for the future' didn't go down very well.

The love goggles broke a long time ago, but I think the pity goggles are equally powerful. It does seem quite surreal looking back at things from here though.

    Edit - RANT ALERT!

I think my head is going to explode. Just got back in from the cinema (preview of The Sweeney, our opinion - bit meh) to find I have a voicemail. Its our old landlords. Great. When I moved out ex was supposed to too. Last minute change and he was staying. I was exhausted and fed up at the time, so didn't check up (very silly).

Fast forward to end of July and the landlords keep trying to call. Turns out they haven't had any rent for three months. And didn't know I had left. Skipping the gory bits, that gets sorted, ex eventually leaves blah blah.

Now ll are saying that a clothes airer (ok), an ironing board (no, there wasn't one) and a washing up bowl (I bought one) are missing. They can't get hold of ex so are hassling me. They've returned the deposit (which I paid) with a small amt knocked off (thank you). So why the f are they still going on about this? I stupidly mentioned that if the airer isn't returned I might pay, and they have suggested an amt which is not ridiculous, but is too much. I have sent back some links to Wilkinsons and said I will order so they can pick up if they don't get the airer back by Monday.

    Just leave me alone!!!!!!

    Solution Alert:

    1. Order Airer from Argos
    2. Tell them to collect at their convenience.
    3. Refuse to discuss the matter further and hang up on them if they call again.

I'd never heard of hard water till I came to the south of England. Nowhere in Scotland has it so they never bothered covering it in the school syllabus.

Soon found out about the effects, though as it's the perfect medium for growing the fungi that cause dandruff. The number of people who have to start buying anti-dandruff shampoo when they move to the London / SE area must be huge.

Nikkster, Doozergirl, lj - are you north/south of the soft-hard water boundary as you're not a milllion miles from jb I've assumed?

Sure, but sometimes the rant is also part of the soloution.

And the crying to every song on the radio. The 'what did i see in him' and the 'what was i thinking, or was i think at all?' thoughts.

Do you have a link to the thread pls...I can't find it ...do they have a spread sheet like the Tesco thread had?

    New thread from them today:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4164645

Skim the first few pages where they thank each other for the new thread.

No spreadsheet because they don't want to make it too easy or too well used in case it is spotted and stopped. Which is why they say Tosco for Tesco and Asda becomes Adsa and store names are spelt with symbols like L0nd0n, in case big brother is watching.

When I posted I had emailed to say if things hadn't been returned by Monday I would order the items (sent them links too) from Wilkinsons for them to collect (think that was the cheapest place). I will then be makingg sure it is clear that the matter is closed and getting their number blocked on my phone/ emails blocked etc.

If I need a reference for my next accommodation I will improvise ;)

So I just found out a friend of mine passed away a couple of days ago....feel absolutely awful as we had a silly little fall out and I hadn't spoken to her for a couple of months. She is only 28, and has just got a place at medical school. She worked so hard for that place! I don't know the cause for her passing at the moment but literally feel numb today.

Middymum, that is sad news. Can you attend the service/funeral? I lost touch with a good mate who became ill and a bit of a recluse and who passed away before I realised how seriously ill he was. He had become isolated and when I went to his funeral I was the only friend there. So glad I went (it took a lot of extreme short-notice reorganising work with colleagues) almost didn't make it.

His parents were there and think they were pleased that somebody was able to represent the friend department.

I've been to seven funerals of my contemporaries (well one was a mate who was about 20 years older than me and in his 70s).

The others were all in their 40s / 50s but one was about 30. People in the insurance industry probably wouldn't bat an eyelid at this but it's always a shock.

I sometimes feel like Reggie Perrin ( I thought only a few posters might recognise who that is, but remembered there was a recent re-make with Martin Clunes) and feel swindled how I got to the age of semi-regular funeral attendances unnanounced and unnoticed. :( Hoping to not have anything like that anytime soon.
