You seem to sidestep things you do not want to do pretty often. Have you ever actually been rail roaded into anything?

i have to spend on average about 3 weeks a year in australia when i'd rather not go at all, ever. plus, in a few weeks time i have to go to my sister's wedding when i'd much rather be going to a friend's birthday.

also every sunday i have to go grocery shopping and clean the flat, which are my least favourite things ever, and i definitely have to be railroaded into both, every time.

feel absolutely awful as we had a silly little fall out and I hadn't spoken to her for a couple of months.

That is sad news for you I am sorry to hear it.

Silly ... and little ....sometimes time passes and there are longer spaces between communications - she was your friend and if time had allowed this little episode would be water under the bridge. Even in your post you are recognising her achievements alongside the loss .

Not sure what to say, MiddyMum, but thinking of you today.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I don't like coffee so I don't buy it....mind you, middle son is partial to a cup of coffee and at times, I have toyed with the idea of buying a jar but then I look at the price and think "Begger that! He can stick with water or fruit juice or buy it himself!"

Odious stuff.....much worse than any stinky ciggie.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

How do you go from being a major contributor to not being here at all?

It would feel like a falling out to me.

I think it was a general falling out with the rest of the board rather than with us in particular. A realisation that her own view was so different from everyone else's that she felt out of place.

So I just found out a friend of mine passed away a couple of days ago....feel absolutely awful as we had a silly little fall out and I hadn't spoken to her for a couple of months. She is only 28, and has just got a place at medical school. She worked so hard for that place! I don't know the cause for her passing at the moment but literally feel numb today.

So sad. I'm sure she knew your tiff was a minor one and you would have made up in time.

Ok, so......i do what...walk into asda and buy frizzease? Then what?

    Yes and no.

The middle part is walking into asda and buying frizzease.

The first part is an exercise in learning and patience. You need to learn how to play the game. The patience is reading up on the threads that explain how to do it, but it is a thread full of drivel that you have to follow to find the gems.

The last part is that you get paid in Asda price guarantee vouchers that you then spend in Asda, either on more frizzease or on other stuff.

In short hand you buy 5 lots of frizzease along with a very cheap shampoo. Additionally you buy at least 8 items that price compare to Tesco. Then you go home and go through the Asda price guarantee website and (hopefully) that gives you the voucher reducing your price of frizzease down to pennies.

    Then you rinse and repeat.

Can't help with the Australia thing - although I thought we had give that up and found punishments closer to home.

I have however some expertise on your Sunday chores.

a)Internet shopping. There is no need whatsoever to go grocery shopping unless you want to.

b)Pay a cleaner to come in and do the chores on a Friday so that there is nothing to do on a Sunday.

Both of these are entirely reasonable responses.

c)You will need to create a displacement activity to fill the newly freed up time. Children would do it. Then you could take them out for the morning whilst Mrs Chewy has a rest.

    a) I attempted this but it is unacceptable as they appear to send you the vegetables and meat that they couldn't sell in the supermarket;

    b) I attempted this and even offered to pay the full amount, but apparently OH will not have a "strange person" in the house cleaning it under any circumstances. I argued that this was unreasonable as I didn't want to waste my time cleaning when I could easily afford to pay someone else to do it. My solution was to offer her the money that would have been paid to a cleaner, and not help. This went down well as you can imagine...

    c) I was thinking that golf would be more appropriate?
