Except they are only doing little shops to stay below the radar, so seem to spend all day touring different Asdas and saving a tenner a time.

This would be a step too far for me - saving £10 on something I have to buy now to avoid a cost in x months time I might do however for a repeat of the activity I would be doing net present value calculations of the cost of holding the personal stock, an imputed opportunity cost of my own time, fuel & depreciation of going from store to store .....or alternatively thinking life is too short.

The Michaels approach I am more in tune with as he is going to the supermarket and making the most of it, not f*nnyig about

    I look like a "double 'ard b4st4rd"

Daren't leave it anywhere though as the seat is on a quick release and comes off in 2 seconds flat.....

Can you take the seat with you?

"double 'ard b4st4rd" - that's changed my mental image of you just a touch. Well, more than a touch, actually!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Beware...it can get quite heated occasionally when discussing lampshades and mushrooms.

phew, i nearly got railroaded into an incredibly expensive couples' skiing trip which would have eliminated my second boys skiing trip tentatively planned for march. thankfully someone else has booked the chalet and the plans have all fallen apart.

Spirit, do you know any farmers in your area who send meat to be butchered? With. Country sized freezer .

The farm we buy from does this but I choose not to have a proper freezer. Only a couple of drawers as part of the Fridge/freezer. Home to Icecream,Icecubes, fish cakes etc, HM soup, Stock. We free cycled our small chest freezer last year.

I do put meat and HM things in there usually for a couple of weeks but I am not keen. A couple of "freezer surprise" dishes in the past have put me off - the cottage pie that turned out to be a crumble - along with anything that has been in a freezer for months I do not want to eat - last week lobbed a number of frozen Pizza's DD had , an unlabelled bag with meat in it, a casserole and a couple of Pheasants .

I am a bit out of touch/unrealistic about this sort of thing - microwave in garage used shamefully about every blue moon and until cardiac events had relied on a solid fuel stove for heating, water and cooking .

It is silly of me really to be like this (work- a-holic and raise a family) you need some sort of successful oldstyle type. My delivery mode is a combination of the worst features of Ma Larkin crossed with Ann Widdecombe.
  • So I just found out a friend of mine passed away a couple of days ago....feel absolutely awful as we had a silly little fall out and I hadn't spoken to her for a couple of months. She is only 28, and has just got a place at medical school. She worked so hard for that place! I don't know the cause for her passing at the moment but literally feel numb today.

PN and LIR vying for first place since NPT2 it's a bit like Venus and Serena Williams....viva takes 2 bronze medals, well done...and chewie is the first male to enter the top three! :T

How do you go from being a major contributor to not being here at all?

It would feel like a falling out to me.

You seem to sidestep things you do not want to do pretty often. Have you ever actually been rail roaded into anything?
