Ear stetchers really are horrid. Worse than a tatt on the butt or soewhere else discreet. Fwiw i am turning into my father because something inside me tuts when i see them.

The only thing worse in that situation is when the holey picture person says

    A. I want to express my individualiy
    B. don't judge me on appearances
    C. Its other peoples problem not mine.

The order changes, so do the words, but the originality of flawed thought rarely does.

I would still have dh's initials under my wedding ring though.

PS Sad news about Neil Armstrong. First he gets stripped of his Tour de France titles then he dies. Wonderful World was his best song IMO.

Friends just returned from a holiday that was meant to be at a luxury resort early, their reason was that the tattoo ratio was too high.

On one of thsoe "10 years younger" programmes, where they change everything about a person, including giving them extensive dental work, they said that teeth whitening needs to be done regularly... it's not a "once in a lifetime" thing, so I figured that unless you knew you'd have the money for the rest of your life to do it you shouldn't start .... same with botox.

Forgive me for pointing it out, but it looks like you have had more than just your teeth done between the two photos.

In the UK you can still get away with average teeth but when I travel to the US I am accutely aware that mine are not 100% white and radiant and a tiny bit not straight.
    I think....

I don't know, I think that American teeth fall at both ends of the scale. I'm guessing that juvenile orthodontics in the US does not have an equivalent of the NHS. Such that if you have the misfortune of being born poor and without a mouthfull of straight pearly-whites nobody is going to come to your aid and give you a smile to be proud of.

It's also worth mentioning that the OTC tooth whitening kits that can be bought in the US are way stronger than those available here so DIY is available cheaply (about £15 IIRC).

That is not in the normal price range - £250-£500 is the normal range for most decent private dentists.

How long whitening lasts depends on the method used, some wear off quicker than others. The longer lasting methods should last 5-10 years, even then the return to the unwhitened colour should be gradual and the age effect slowed down.

Confesses to having some whitening done a few years ago.

Oh - do I have the poshest dentist here then? I didn't 'choose' him, my old choose that one and then I 'chose' the one my old did because my old said they were good and it was easier ... and to me a dentist is a dentist.

I paid about £250 7 years ago. They could probably do with redoing now, but not high on my list of spend as I know I'd get sensitivity. It's worth saying that without veneers you don't get the silly white of celebrities. What never ceases to amaze me too is how really rich celebs (Barry Gibb and Cliff Richard spring to mind) can have amazing dental jobs done then speak/sing with a lisp. Just watch their recent concerts/interviews. There's no point in having amazing teeth if you can't speak properly.
