I'm home! Currently in Rustavi!
Grandmother (93) was taken into hospital on Monday night, so I've abandoned Ukraine and come straight across with DD1, whilst DD2 and their friends (Turkish) are going to be joining in Tbilisi next week.
GM seems really confused, she's asked me who I am, believes that she's talking to her parents and thinks that DD1 is my sister when she was 11 years old
My parents are coming out on the 16th, but am I right to be worried?

What diagnosis have you been given? What symptoms has she got besides the confusion? What are the doctors saying?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
You'll have to tell us what your budget isOut of interest, why do you prefer houses that are less than 20 years old?
20 years means it's mostly modern, modern construction .... so double glazing by default etc .... and less years for somebody to have spent decades botching or badly upgrading. If you have a 100 year old house there's a raft of old pipes/wires here/there/everywhere... sometimes connected, sometimes not.... god knows how furred up the pipes are, or whether the electrics follow proper routes... etc etc. When it was built it won't have had electricity or indoor plumbing, so these will have been added (probably at least twice) by god knows who (and probably the neighbour) in a haphazard fashion.
I also prefer the look of houses 20 odd years old. I'm daft because I kind of want to like the way my house looks .... rather than being blinkered to what it looks like from the kerb.
I like bricks too. No render. And preferably not painted (maintenance to be done).
I mentally have the perfect house in my mind's eye and I know it doesn't exist.... but you start with a template and then what you're prepared to compromise on can be thought about as each "kind of/nearly" house becomes available.
I could write a book about what I like/don't like and why .....
And before anybody says "buy land, build it"..... that's just not going to happen for the usual reason people don't.... getting land, the right land, the right size land, in the right location... could take 10 years to find0 -

She's recently been put on a drug called Rameprilis (direct transliteration from Georgian script, I don't know UK name, neither does mother, who is a doctor) and this seems to be where the problem started.
She's been very tired and had hallucinations for the last 2 weeks, neighbour got concerned, so took her to hospital where things seem to be getting worse. She's had weak legs and problems standing.
When I went to see her last night, where she told me that she hadn't taken her medication, then pulled a tissue from her pocket containing salt and pepper, and was adamant that this was her medication for about half an hour afterwards.
I'm just concerned.

ETA: Just been able to speak to ex-BiL. Rameprilis is Remipril, which it looks like this could be following the symptoms of.💙💛 💔0 -

Perhaps you should talk to her doctors about changing the medication if it seems to be causing this kind of a reaction. Hope she gets better soon, its good that she has you there.0 -

Probably.
The test's easy enough: pee into a cup for the Dr/nurse, they shove a bit of litmus paper in, wait 5-10 minutes, compare the paper to the colour chart.... instant diagnosis. Of course, they then have to send a sample off to the lab, but they can start the tablets based just on the paper test.

On a separate note, I'm taking DD1 into Old Tbilisi in a minute, as she wants to look at the designer shops. I also need to go down to BzikebiStudio today (which is the Georgian version of CK's vast empire) as I need to see Giga, some of my kids, and my Georgian creative team, especially as we're opening the kids Eurovision this year with these guys (Candy Music).
The new Audi A3 looks really lovely (we flew into Yerevan and rented it there from Sixt), although it's going to be too small next week, so OH is going to rent another one
