I think this reply makes more sense with my post than fc's. Yes, perfectly round. And in a good location for reading a book whilst washing.

Yep, thats the one i had mri at and will be back at next tuesday. But i will have to go to one of daddy bears for a and e. i am slightly worried i will run into a really cross doctor with a houseprice gripe.

I have a bag packed so that if i go in and get bumped my family or husband can bring me stuff i need (towel, pjs, change of clothes, lots of pairs of knickers (you just never know) and some toiletries.

I am not sure i should be seen reading if i am going in saying i am intermittantly losing sight they will just say..'well, not right now you are not'

Still have not decided but am prepared if i opt for going in.

Just doing the DWs car insuranace renewal. Renewal quote is 20% less than last year and again cheaper than any other companies including new customer with cashback for the same company. This is now the second time this has happened in a row on car insurance renwal whereas previously it was always cheaper to get a new policy even if it was with the same company...what is going on?

DW's van insurance has always been low through the broker she uses, yet she still sought something cheaper last year.

Apart from getting loads of spam insurance emails for her trouble, she also had many firms ring her, but when they heard what she'd already been offered, they gave up. :D

It's not with any dodgy insurance co either. Can't remember the name, but it's whatever Fortis is now.

Yesterday at the BV they arrested the only tout I saw and carted him off. Why it's illegal to sell Olympic tix - which is the right way forward IMO - but not everything else is beyond me. The real touting where it does exist is clearly much more sophisticated than the bloke who stands on the kerbside shouting "tickets, who wants tickets?" but it would be great if they could get rid of kerbside touts.

There was a festival very near to here last weekend. I saw some touts (piece of cardboard saying tickets buy/sell) next to a petrol station, and 3 or 4 police on bikes right next to them just having a chat. Touts still openly touting. I very nearly took a photo for the local paper, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Can't sleep .... also can't randomly wander about, make a coffee, put the telly on, go out for a cig etc .... in case I wake up the LL. It sucks to be a lodger, you're not free to really do what you want.... or even declare it in advance. Who'd take in a lodger that said "Yeah - and a lot of the time I can't sleep, so I get up and wander about, I go outside at 2-4am quite regularly, so, since I'm up might as well watch some telly and put the kettle on"

    :)

    Got iTunes/an mp3 player?
Poundland will do boxes of earphones (2-4 pairs).
Download podcasts you can listen to ( Selected Shorts 40+ mins , Radio 4 Friday Night Comedy 30 mins, The Moth 20 mins, etc.).
There's free listenable stuff to suit everybody.:)
Plus with headphones and a laptop you can watch tv online anyway (or did you say your laptop's in storage?).

I think it does pause.... when he was showing me how it worked (you know how people do ... all fast and holding the controls and flicking here there and everywhere) .... I did see some rewinding... but that might have been on films that apparently I can record... yeah, which flick was that then??

I think pausing is done by the pause button, rewinding with the rewind button and recording with the record button. :p

got back from Romania 5pm today and we are too old to miss a nights sleep as we used Mon all night to travel.
It was a fascinating trip and I appreciate UK + London all the more now. I have only been to St Petes Russia before but no other Eastern Bloc countries. We also went to a town (rather than a major city) and the crumbling concrete blocks of flats are something else.
I'll update tomo ...wheezy did a tour but I can't find the post which said where he went.

Our tour was: UK - eurotunnel - Brussels - Berlin - B&B in Frankfurt/Oder (Polish border) - Warsaw - Bialystok - Kaunas (Lithuania) and back.
Love driving on the continent. Only drawback with UK car is overtaking trucks on a 2x1 lane road with Mrs. Wheezy being co-pilot.
    - Can I go now?
    - No, there's a bend coming up
    - Can I go now?
    - No, there's a hidden dip further ahead!
    - Can I go now?
    - No! There are now 2 trucks in front of this one and you won't be able to squeeze in!
    - Can I...oh it's ok now, he's turning off.

Laptop's here... no headphones though. Currently got 'proper broadband' for awhile as there's wifi here.

I prefer to lie in silence listening to the sounds of the night.... it's the inability to wander that does my nut in. I am a wanderer....

If any NP are overseas, or have family overseas, wanting to watch either better Olympics coverage or other UK TV online.....

    There is a solution.
