PN have you discovered the pause button so you can pause live TV, then wait and watch without the ads?
    No!!!
I can: turn on the telly/Sky ... go through the channels by using the up/down arrows... increase/decrease the volume. And I can turn it all off again. That's a major leap forward.

    :)

I've only actually watched about one hour of telly since I've been here.

    Another Olympic ticket whinge.

Having had the same miserable experience that others have mentioned trying to buy tickets that are advertised but not there when you 'request' them on previous attempts, I am at present having another go.

I have requested 4 tickets for athletics on Saturday about an hour ago. This time I had a new message it said there was a waiting time to search of 15 minutes...a bit later my place in the queue had moved to 12 minutes....almost an hour later it still says 12 minutes, and that i must not refresh or 'go back' or i will lose the request. Mr S has gone to bed, the dog has gone to bed (and is looking at me in his "put the light out will you" way) and I am paralysed by indecision...am I throwing away a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to the Olympics if i give up or acknowledging that life is too short to queue/sit in a 'hangng' technology.

Just checked and it still says 12 minutes:(

    NP wisdom welcome.

Maybe look beyond meat - and find 2-3 nice things to cook in it that don't use meat at all... soups? veg curry? Or, what about desserts, rice pudding or puddings I think can be done in them.

    Just avoid meaty things....

:o - I take it you have seen me drive

Just doing the DWs car insuranace renewal. Renewal quote is 20% less than last year and again cheaper than any other companies including new customer with cashback for the same company. This is now the second time this has happened in a row on car insurance renwal whereas previously it was always cheaper to get a new policy even if it was with the same company...what is going on?

I take it OH was like me, daft enough to sit in the "booby seat" inthe front. Well, more fool me for thinking londoners just close their eyes and "use the Force" when driving.

I spotted pdq how scary driving is in countries where the driver answers his mobile while driving and also needs his hands free to make unobservable hand gestures to the caller who can't see diddy-squat!

Now let's guess how many hands that leaves on the driving wheel of the car in the fast lane.

If I could have flicked his phone out of the car without him noticing..........:D
    I think....

Spirit, that's exactly what just happened to me before getting the ticket that I just got. Hang in there. The same thing has happened to me many, many times before and I didn't get anything. DH was online same time and didn't get anything, but this time round I did, so take care....

I think you can use Pyrex bowls inside slow cookers so you don't have to fill the whole thing. Haven't tried it myself, but think I read it on the OS board.

    Thanks Viva. Hope springs eternal.

It still says 12 minutes, but I am now thinking that is a good thing.
