I like most fruits except mango, melon and cherries.

Raspberry's, Strawberry's and Pineapple are amongst my favourites.

No, I think it's apricot jelly with tangerine oil.
The three you mentioned are a no to me; I'd expunged them from my mind.
Rhubarb's toxic anyway; full of oxalic acid

CK was munching on a pack of Jaffa cakes as he read that.....:o:eek:

I've had a bit of a result with the insurance company today. Van driver has admitted Russian lady was not on the phone and that he should have looked properly before smashing into one of ours. I've struck a deal with the insurers that we will sell the car (it's for sale through a company in Colchester with pictures we've taken) and they will make up the difference of an equivalent model (which, looking at Dagenham Motors' website, is about £11000 more than we'll get for that. It's not a write-off, however East Herts aren't happy to put a Hackney plate on it (which is where quite a few of our motors end up) if it's been accident damaged.

    Anything interesting happening here?

off to bed. nit nite We are away tomo for 2 days sneaking off for some spa time. I bought a coupon last time to return half price and we only have 2 weeks left to use it.
It's the last luxury spending we are doing now for a while (well apart from next W/E as I have to decide whether to book into something nice for there as well).

    Are you a curry-lover or curry-hater?

A general question for NPs - are there fruit you cannot stand? Rhubarb's an abomination to me and apricots should only be in jaffa cakes . Most others I'm fine with. A Swedish colleague at work introduced me to cloudberries. Sublime!

I have 'transient' allergies, which means sometimes i cannot eat pineapple, citrus fruits raw, strawbs. Thing is you don't know till you tyry, or give them up. The latter is a no way for me, so i touch lots of food to my lips for a moment, just to see if it tingley itchey feels.

Last two migraines i had came after a grapefruit and an orange. I love pink grapefruits, a lot. I eat fewer oranges than i would if someone else peeled them. I adore rhubarb and gooseberries. I do not much like dragon fruit, though its beautiful, and i just did not like gogi berries (though special girl loves them and dh keeps saying he will het her some from china town where they are cheaper). Special girls favourite food without doubt is pears. Over ripe ones. She goes into a sort of closed eye rapture as juice dribbles down her chin and whiskers.

I cannot think atm of a fruit i don't like. Apart from that, must be some though.

Lydia, milk is harser than meat to source easily.

The main welfare issues from those looking for enhanced welfare animal products are not the bottles pf free range milk or packets of free range meat, its the hidden food products...reasy made foods and treats containing eggs, meat milk.

The easiest way to buy into beter than basic welfare and farmer 'friendly' is shopping somewhere lioke waitrose, and buying their own label stuff.

Lots of premium brand made food uses 'mean' eggs etc.

Zag, I'm totally loving the Olympics! In my view, there is no bigger advertisement for a country. The Olympics are the biggest " main event" ever. I don't care how much they cost.

I'm sooo looking forward to Olympics too. Have tickets for Archery, Football, Athletics and Beach Volleyball. For the Paralympics we're going to Opening and Closing ceremonies, athletics x 2 and cycling. Also planning to go in to watch the Marathons if schedules allow. You won't see me on TV at any of the events though. Being a person of normal means I don't have the tickets that cost thousands, but the more modestly priced ones. I'll therefore be the little black dot up in the top left hand corner. For the archery DH has been winding me up and saying that the tickets are so cheap because they are behind the target (thankfully they're not really)...

Don't know of anyone has been watching 'History of our streets' but has been so intresting. A townhouse in Portland Rd Notting Hill cost exactly same amount as our suburban box back in 68. The Notting Hill house is now worth 8 million. Ours is nothing near that.

My great aunt bought two big houses in Holland Park back then. She was by far the wealthiest member of my family. I get a real kick out of the fact that the richest in my line was a woman.

I know what you mean....I have noticed the few corp emplyees we deal with seem more wired at the moment, seem to be kind of under a lot more pressure than usual. My sector hasn't had a great season (hence the bumper sales kicking off again) and all down to the weather. Even the trade press aren't saying it's an excuse anymore as the continual rain just dampens mood and the need for new stuff.

About one year in ten I find that I buy very few clothes because there's nothing in the shops that I like. Don't get me wrong, I think some of the clothes are lovely but being the age I am I don't want to wear shoes that would make me look like a Thai Ladyboy (actually, scratch that, I'm not tall enough, thin enough and my hair isn't lusterous enough, but you get my drift).. And the clothes are so bleurgh. The colours are either too bright or too washed out and the shapes just aren't me. Marks and Spencer has got it horribly wrong this year. If I was to wear the collection available in my local one I'd have to go join a commune and start yoghurt knitting. Plus it's cold, I don't want to buy a floaty thin material top when the maximum temp is 15 degrees. Hopefully winter will be better.
