Oh ... and I was in Boots and went on one of those machines that prints out how awful you are..... here are my current stats.

Please don't quote this post as it might disappear.

    Weight: 10st 1lb 64.3Kg
    Height: 5'1.3" 1.56m
    BMI 26.4
    Body Fat 43.3%
    Body Fat Mass 27.8kg

Recommendations for body fat show 38.7% as "poor" so I did worse than that.
BMI says more than 25 is overweight... yep, guilty.

    My ideal weight is 7st 11lb to 9st 8lb (45Kg to 60.8 Kg)

I should at least aim for 8st 13lb really. See how these bananas and this swimming malarky work.

Some stuff that is being removed.

I wouldn't get hung up on BMI. Rugby players have high BMI yet are fit. Not saying you should play rugby, just that its only one statistic that doesn't give a whole picture.

there's also a theory about your ideal weight. i have been the same weight most (well, ok, all) of my adult life. I waver +/- 3kilos (approx 8lbs) but that's it. Even with the crazy amount of exercise I'm doing now it's not changed :)

The waist to hip ratio is another one. But I definitely fail that one as well as most of my excess weight appears to be on my belly.

I've got a size 8-10 hip and no bum.... it's all above that. I'm definitely an apple shape....
