Our veg are terrible. The caulis have been eaten to nothing whatsoever. We have one really decent kohlrabi, and the beets and carrots look ok. Everything else....doubt it will make anything.

Peas! you must have peas. And raspberries. When it stops raining, I will go and pick some.

    Oh dear!

We are really struggling with water now, and i am going to have to find out if i can get rid of it any cheaper than seeing if the septic tank people will take it. I reckone that we have several hundred pounds worth, may be a thousand? Of surface water to take away in the cake now, because it needs to be emptied to be able to take next winters surface water. :(.

Perhaps you could export it to parched lands, such as arid Hertfordshire?
    Oh, er, on second thoughts!

I think we have peas left, dunno, and i think the broad beans are ok.

I have an admission though. I think frozen peas are excellent value. It takes hours to pod peas:o. I mainly grow them for the saladings, i love pea shoots. My dad likes fresh peas, so he can sit there and pod them if he likes.:D

We bought some 'fresh' peas a few weeks ago - I say 'fresh' as they were yellow-stickered and from a supermarket, so goodness knows how old they were (somewhere between quite and very). We podded them with sieves on our laps in front of the tv :) We are sticking with frozen in future.

I used to walk into the garden and pod/eat some fresh peas some mornings..... in the 70s. I LOVE the taste of peas straight out of the pod, just picked.... but it's not nice when you pop the pod and inside a pea or two are a bit furry and there are tiny maggots....

I fancy pea and mint soup now.

I am only going to have the slow cooker next week, so soup would be good, but i think slow cooking peas would lose their zingy freshness.

Our last fish (little yellow b@stard) died, they're all gone. Very sad.

I like eating frozen peas when they are still frozen!
