Unbelievably, we still have a hosepipe ban!:rotfl:

Dh took his double bass in to be repaired today. We are both so amazed by the excellent value of this skilled labour we felt like offering to pay extra.
The other bonus of doing the small repairs (replacement bridge) and maintaining now is that we do not have to find somewhere else in the house for the thing this week!
I never thing of dh as a bass player, thou he is pretty good.0 -
we do allow the use of hosepipes by customers who have severe mobility problems and so already hold a current Blue Badge, as issued by their local authority.
Hmmm.... I'm actually thinking of getting my mother round here. Put her in a wheelchair and stick a snorkel on her head whilst I hose down the garden. :rotfl:0 -
I personally think that the putative central London GP would be awesome - F! aficionados any thoughts?vivatifosi wrote: »So glad I don't have a ticket for Silverstone this weekend. I've been dragged out of the car park by tractor before now and its no fun. The fact that its now years on from that and still this supposed world class facility has little proper parking for the public goes to show how much more development is needed there.
No doubt Bernie will be seeing yet more reasons to move the Grand Prix somewhere else, possibly abroad.
PN starts to write 50 shades of nice, my ears have certainly pricked up...PasturesNew wrote: »Also picked up a cozzie and had a 10 minute dip in the pool.
Sitting here nekkid .... and thinking "I should have a big dress thing to lounge about on my bed after swimming"
WE live on such a nice street, the street party is in full swing, so far we have mostly dodged showers although the bbq has been replaced with a buffet and the zumba has been cancelled (which I was hoping to watch). However the band are playing their second set and I am thinking of offering to serve hot baked potatoes from the garage at tea time.
Today has been pretty manic with physio this AM then about 12 different stores to get varoius bits and pieces ready for the builders startign tomorrow on the kitchen and DD1s birthday on Monday. As usual none of the online present purchases have arrived in time but the flymo blades and hoover bags ordered at the same time did of course arrive. Luckily the main present is from a real shop. Now I should be caulking and sanding the spare room prior to painting as the Spanish students arrive in a week. DW and kids have gone to the school fayre and then it will no doubt be back to the street party. It is really nice having the road closed and seeing all the kids riding/skating/scooting/hopscotch etc.I think....0 -
Your builders are starting tomorrow? A sunday start....hope your neighbours are laid back! Hope it all goes well and that ds has a lovely birthday. I am sure he will.0

It is only a kitchen refit but they are also removing a couple of small walls so the noisy bit will be at the start ie tomorrow
We have a standalone microwave/oven/grill and were hoping that with that in the utility room and our emergency two ring hob top stove we would be sorted for cooking. But we have just discovered that we have never got the hob back from lending it to SIL in London so we need a plan B or else we will be living of pizza, oven chips and salad for the week.lostinrates wrote: »Your builders are starting tomorrow? Cake and apologies for neighbours then? We are going to let ours know but don't think anything will get in their way or disturb them. The main problem will be the cows like to come in and any unsual noise makes them think they might be let in early, so they hang around the gate instead of eat grass to make milk. So my neighbours might move their field rotation.0 -
We were talking of scotch eggs some time back .... there's a speciality shop a mile away http://www.handmadescotcheggs.co.uk/ ... I could find myself strangely drawn in their direction in the next 2-3 weeks.... need to at least try the banana diet for a few days before I give up ... make it look like I tried

Yes, kids need real food. I was planning salads and cold meats, but, brrrr......buying hot food does appeal now.
If only they had those scary looking munchy boxes down here, eh?:rotfl:0
