Not a balanced diet and totally boring. I'm sure you can eat properly and take walks to discover your new town/ keep trim.PasturesNew wrote: »In an urgency to secure the best price I could here... there's limited parking. First come/first served and all that.... so this morning I cleared my car of more of my important stuff (papers, bank stuff etc), so I can go out and about and if I return and there's no spaces I won't fret and/or have to lug all that stuff here at short notice, a long way, in the rain. There's on road parking in the road, but as most people's drives span the width of their plot (each accommodating 5 spaces), it means there's short offerings... although in the first instance I'd probably park right outside, blocking 2 into this driveway ..... because it might turn out they weren't planning on going out all week anyway.
People want to be able to access their car, even if they don't want to use it. I would check with them first.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's totally devoid of chocolate biscuits. That's what's wrong with it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I went out ... it was raining and you know what it's like when it's raining and you're in a strange town, trying to look out of the windows and be in the right lane. Well, I managed to not end up in a queue for a ferry.... but, also, there's nowhere to stop and look at stuff as everything's pay/display etc. So I kept driving... and, just after I avoided yet another ferry queue... I spotted Asda, it was a 24 hour one, so I thought I'd go and have a look.
They nearly caught me out at the first hurdle, it was a Pay & Display, but if you spend more than £5 you get it refunded... so in I went. Cozzies... they had a total range of 6, 4 of which were alike/identical. I didn't like what they had... and it'd have involved me knowing what size I am (which I don't). But, I did manage to pick up a random summer dress in the sale, for £7, although if I do lose weight it won't fit me next week....0 -

Question. Golliwogs.....are they considered offensive or not? (i have a few, mainly very old ones, and love them but see them no more as like a black person than i identify with a cabbage patch doll or raggady andy). I have two in my dining room but am just about to pack them away and wondered whether i M heinous for looking forward to having them back.
I suspose it depends on whether you think that comic depictions of black people are funny (I'm sure you don't). The difficulty is you are probably fond of them because they belong to a different time and place.
If you had black friends over to dinner - would you be happy to have them on display ?
I was in York a few weeks ago, where they are still on sale - it would be impossible for them to be sold in Liverpool nowadays (for example).
On a side not - a teacher at my primary school (circa 1976) had the class singing a song called "Sambo had an auntie".
I'd be keeping them in the bedroom out of sight.US housing: it's not a bubble - Moneyweek Dec 12, 20050 -

Loving this sentiment. A friend told me that she used to have photos of all her family on display, then when the in-laws came to visit she would do a quick swap around and put their photos up.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. And not enough veg. Veg should ideally be greater in the diet than fruit. Eat a rainbow is also a useful phrase.0 -

This used to be my favourite book as a child - 50 + years ago! I doubt you'll find it on many bookshelves now.0
