It royally screwed me because the delay meant that the level crossing didn't come up between trains as the one behind was too close. Wasted 7 mins of my day! Prosecute her!

I had a peek at the menu, brain registered: noodles, £8-10.... and I shuffled on :)

I ended up getting a £1 chicken sandwich from the Co-Op.
Bottle of still water at the aforementioned noodel eaterie, £3.80. Not for me, ta.
Things overload!!! My head is spinning from the things! All the many, many things.... ..

But no ashtray shop I'll bet. First time I moved into a new town I searched high and low but couldn't find a shop that sells ashtrays.
Nor could I find anyone who knew where to buy one:D

I cannot stand any restaurant where other people just get seated on your table. It's just as bad as having tables too close to each other in a restaurant. I do not want to be able to hear other people's conversations and vice versa.
It kills the astmosphere. Especially if you get stuck next to idiots who've obviously taken a Vow of Loudness:eek:

What's bottled water? Doesn't it just come out of a tap? :p
Green tea is free too if you're into that kind of thing.

Never trust anyone who sends flowers. I never send flowers, QED.

I send flowers in an untrustworthy manner. Usually to girlfriends having nasty time from workplace b1tchiness or man trouble.

I am not a fan of wagamamas, the food is ok but I cannot stand any restaurant where other people just get seated on your table. It's just as bad as having tables too close to each other in a restaurant. I do not want to be able to hear other people's conversations and vice versa.

I can just about tolerate busabi etai as the tables are big and it's four couples sitting each on an edge of a big square so you don't have someone you don't know right next to you. Sushi belts are ok too as you can turn your back.

See. I don't trust food that comes by conveyor belt.

Charity shops and car boot sales :)
Supermarkets would also have some basic ones, probably brushed aluminium.

Last of the great unromantics here - I just don't get spending large sums on items that you throw away after a few days (or less if I can help it as it just brings hay fever in to the house)
I do get flowers really. Once a year on our anniversary. I forgot one year though, so now I do it once every two years and claim that was intentional.

You wouldn't do that on a Thameslink train more than once (probably because it is difficult to do anyhting having been strung up by a lynch mob)
Someone just pulled the emergency alarm on he train because they missed their stop!!!!

Tap water is fine for me at home (or be it chilled and filtered from the fridge) so it is fine in restuarants to.

Couldn't multi-quote everything but PN I am really envious of your summer abode, I spent a summer there when I was about 22 teaching English to foreign stdents. Have you tried surfing the artificial break yet?. If you are having a warm humid evening like we are here then it is definietely worth a walk round town later on. Finally I remeber there was a big 24 hour Sainsburys or Tescos (probably both) somewhere on one of the main roads :) Try to remember to close your mouth as you gawp at the choice...
    I think....
