Oooh.... I should change my address at relevant places :)

Yes, you definitely should - I bet you can go to all sorts of places now.
Things overload!!! My head is spinning from the things! All the many, many things.... that's why I couldn't choose what to have for lunch.....

It'll take a while for you to find your feet and get used to the change, but I'm sure you'll like it once you're a bit more settled.

Me too. The ginger chicken udon is my favourite. I have to make myself try different things (but then I wish I had stuck with my old faithful).

I am not a fan of wagamamas, the food is ok but I cannot stand any restaurant where other people just get seated on your table. It's just as bad as having tables too close to each other in a restaurant. I do not want to be able to hear other people's conversations and vice versa.

I can just about tolerate busabi etai as the tables are big and it's four couples sitting each on an edge of a big square so you don't have someone you don't know right next to you. Sushi belts are ok too as you can turn your back.

My personal experience backs that up.

Other than family/ friends, I've been bought flowers on 2 occasions before today.

First: Same person as today (the one and only previous occasion). Get home to see flowers. Not pleased about the spending £, but they were very nice. Person then goes out for the night and doesn't come back. I'm not invited.

Second: Last year doing once a decade people counting, team manager took a bit of a shine to me (don't think I did anything to encourage, and whilst being passable I'm under no illusions that I'm irresistable). At end of project we have to hand back all our stuff (bags, forms etc). We were given a choice of a couple of afternoons to do this, all at mgrs house (there wasn't exactly a local office for the project!). I get taken to one side and handed the saddest bunch of flowers I have ever seen  Proper 'last bunch left at the garage' stuff. It is made clear that I am the only one getting flowers. I make a hasty exit and get the bus back. Didn't want to put flowers in the bin outside his house so I held them as if they weren't there :o
When I got home I rang HR to document that I was uncomfortable (I was so shocked I couldn't say anything at the time) just in case there were any problems in the future

I like having flowers, but they are generally bought when they are reduced to 50p! Much safer.

I do get flowers really. Once a year on our anniversary. I forgot one year though, so now I do it once every two years and claim that was intentional.

Oh, I forgot to mention: stock up on parmesan if you like it... prices will rise and there'll be a shortage, probably for 5 years. Earthquake in May killed a lot of the cows that make the milk... and the rest are too traumatised to be milked.
