LIR, a clot is the worry, of course. Blindness in one eye (not both) is one of the symptoms of a mini-stroke or Transient Ischaemic Attack, which should be treated as a medical emergency. That is not because the Transient Ischaemic Attack itself is serious, as the symptoms wear off, but because there is a heightened risk of a stroke which can be ameliorated.

I would take it more seriously. The NHS advises getting an ambulance immediately.

Gdb, i am taking it seriously. Calling the doctor is a bigdeal for me these days, and they know what the issue is. I don't know wha more to realistically do than tell them and see them. The lack of due concern feeds onto my lateophobia so i share your cconcern but cannot let it twkeover. I would have gonectoday if theyvwould see me.

I'm voting for earlier rather than later, too. I worked in an old people's home and every single person in there had had a stroke.

What I meant was that the standard NHS advice in the event of a TIA is to call an ambulance that will take you to A&E not your GP, and to do this straight away.

You could call NHS Direct for advice. They would take into account any other conditions/symptoms/general health. I have no idea whether you have had a TIA, and I don't want to be alarmist, just careful.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

LIR is there not an option to have a private GP appointment at a time to suit you. The improved service you are certain to get may also counteract your dislike of GPs? Otherwise would it not be possible to talk directly to any of the specialists who treated you before?
    I think....

    On phone now.

Private gp means driving, which i would prefer not to do. Have asked dh to come home tonight, nhs direct are being great, and say saturday too long away too, sop you were all right.

Not sure what is happening yet, but i feel fine and am taking advice so no one need fret!:D

If it's not too far, maybe call a taxi?
    Really worried now, LIR!

Ok, the answer Is, unless it recurrs before i am going to out of hours gp this evening (i don't mind out of hours gos as much so thats a bonus) because saturday is too long. Ut its deemed a bit of an unnecesaary palava to go to a and e, unless it happens again when i will call an ambulance so someone can see the eye while it happens.

Its most likely to be a not major issue and nuerological, which is ok.

Don't worry. I have taken on board all advice and i am getting help, plus, atm i am absolutely fine......look, this is me:j:j

Private gp would be salisbury, and far too far for a taxi! I am seeing someone today in anycase, so all is well.

Dh cannot easily get away so i will taxi too and from out of hours doctor. :)
