I sometimes think about where I would move to if I could go anywhere. But I can never decide as I like different places for different reasons.

Where and why would each of you choose, or would you stay just where you are now?

Well that was a fleeting visit! You came, you saw and you left while I was tucked up asleep!

In terms of where we live now, it is convenient for where I work and where DH works, which are in different directions so that leaves us in a particular area. It would be good to have a detached house though. We are in a semi at the moment and while our neighbours are wonderful, if that changed we'd move in a shot. However everything else is great: we live on a small managed private estate, so the gardens always look immaculate, the fences are never tatty and the streets swept.

We're also looking at getting another place, this may be sometime into the future. We'd like to get something in either northern Spain (preferred) or southern France, but things have to stabilise a bit first. I'm concerned that we'd snap up something cheap and then a punitive tax on second homes would be introduced for non-residents.
I have absolutely no idea what this even is .....

EHIC is a card you can get free of charge that entitles you to reciprocal "NHS" type care when you go abroad. So if, for example, you're taken ill in Spain, you can be taken to hospital there.

We have a friend who told us he always took a girl out for a curry as an early date, if she couldn't manage a reasonably hot curry that marked the end of the relationship. I would have failed at the first hurdle, I don't eat curries.

Ex husband loved a hot curry, I cannot stand anything spicy.....he would have his curry and I would have my chinese.

I make a mean curry though, or so the boys tell me.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Welcome HJD

I am a post at all kinds of weird and wonderful times depending on what mood or care duties takes me.

We got the bargain of the century yesterday, hard cases for middle son's drum kit at a local Red Cross shop....all for £50 (they generally cost about £300 to £400 for decent ones...and these are decent) and all in very good as new condition. I didn't have £50 but know the manager (ex mum in law volunteers there), so she is letting me pay £25 today and £25 next week.

Youngest is unsettled, he had his hair cut yesterday, he likes it but because it is different, it has unsettled him.

    School run time!

Physicists.... CERN has announced that they have found a new particle, but won't yet announce that it is Higgs-Boson.

Slightly OT, Does anyone know the best flashcard/cart to enable an NDS/lite to play MP3s?

And while you are at it - is it worth paying 300 quid more to get an induction hob?

No. Not unless you want to replace post of your pots and pans.

What is the advantage of an induction hob? Instant heat, you get that with a gas hob. Easy to clean, though you have to be careful which cleaning products you choose.

    News ... it's raining!

It'll be raining tomorrow too when I do my big drive, which is always a sod as you have to be super alert in the rain. Hopefully it'll only be a 4 hour drive though, but no motorways at all.

    Surprise surprise... it's raining here.

Just seen DS off for his taster day. Not sure how much is nervousness and how much was excitement, but he certainly wasn't calm!
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Hope DS has fun on his taster day Lydia.

It's raining here too. I've just looked at the forecast and it looks as though - with the exception of tomorrow - it is forecast to rain every day for the next two weeks:(.

Still scrolling through places to live.... now onto hotels again.... looks like I might be paying £2500 for July/August at the cheapest places (aka: dives) ..... or buy a tent. But it's raining all summer, so a tent's not appealing.

This one any good for you Pastures? http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-23359584.html

EHIC entitles you to health services whilst in the EU. Not necessarily free, but the local equivalent of the NHS.
