um....i know there are some excel geniuses on here.
I would like to write a macro. Basically, I have 3 sets of values that I need to colour code. Cells with 0.5 should be red, 0-0.4 will be blue, 0.4-0.49 will be yellow. I am using excel 2010 (or i can use excel for mac the previous version, 2008?)
Is it easy to teach me?
V easy.
I'd use conditional formatting

I wouldn't mention about the toadstool; enough people here have strong opinions about mushrooms as it is.
I suppose the containers are then handed over to those lorries that work in the haulage industry - sorry I meant "logistics" or is it "solutions" now?
Good news about the maintenance, Sue!
We just called them hauliers...or subbies.
At my last company, they had their own fleet and subbed out a far smaller proportion, it was also becoming more popular to send by rail especially when fuel prices kept increasing (although would love to have those prices now!)
I was more customer facing in that I liased with the main customer and their various depots or end customers to arrange the deliveries, organise payments, take receipt of (correctly endorsed) bills of lading etc, rather than the actual organising of the trucks.
I had done that in a previous sector of the business as I have worked for 2 hauliers (one as an accounts clerk), two forwarding agents (doing customs clearance and arranging deliveries with the shipping line) and three shipping lines doing a whole multitude of roles but mainly imports.
I did have at one shipping line company some experience of working with the drivers directly...the beggers worked out that someone was at the office at 7am Saturday mornings (along with 7am all other mornings apart from Sunday too) which was before our haulage guy came in and would be waiting in a queue at the door for me to arrive! They would then be most upset when I couldn't help them and after a while, Gary (our haulage dept boss), would leave paperwork out for me to give them. Some mornings I would spend more time messing about doing that than doing the work I came in to do.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Yes, glad the maintenance has finally arrived Sue, hope it didn't impact on your weekend too much.
Zag - not sure if this will interest you/ if you're already aware of it, but BBC News tracked a container for a bit. Linky:

I was fine, the bank of mum and dad came to the rescue...it wasn't a huge sum anyway so I was at least better off than a lot of others caught up in it.We made it! You have had a non-macro answer, which I am sure is best in this case.
For future reference, the way I usually do macros is to use the 'Record new macro' facility. Then press Alt-F11 to bring up the VBA editor and edit the macro to do what I want, eg in this case, generalise the cell range and add some 'if ... then... else' statements. Macros are so helpful that it is worth learning, and you may as well start with a simple example like this one. The trouble is that people are so pressured to get the job done that they don't have time to learn new ways to do it better. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I had a feeling very attractive, feminine and sexy night last night.....I wore a girly dress :rotfl:
It was my parent's 52nd wedding anniversary yesterday and we all went out for a meal, so I dressed up. The boys were most surprised to see me in a dress as I have not had the confidence to wear dresses for many years but it felt completely right last night.
Mind you, maybe my recent feeling of being a little bit attractive comes from meeting up with an old friend who used to fancy the pants off me....and still does, even with the added years, different hair colour to cover the grey and more than a few extra pounds (I was less than a size 8 when he fancied the pants off me before!)We made it! In the old days pre containerisation, the ship and its crew could be in port for a month fiddling about trying to re-stow sacks using dockers with hooks. So many more parking spaces were required!
These days the crew (of 10?) join the navy to see the world but all they see is the sea (unless it is a cruise ship in which case they will nearly all be from the third world).
also, british merchant shipping levels pre-1914 were enormous - as far as i understand it, it wasn't until some point in the 1980s when we actually handled more gross tonnage than we did before the first world war (the end of britain being a global power and the death of the empire saw to that).
thus even without increased mechanisation, britain would have had no need for the number of ports and dock capacity that it had previous had. bigger ships meant that you need deepwater ports so london's docks were never going to be viable into the modern age.0 -

I might have a play because conditional formatting is not doing it right....
I get cells with the wrong colour and I want a colour gradient...0
